Sure, why should we settle for three lousy Superbowl wins? Not a good deal unless we get five or more.
He is not hinting he wants out. He was frustrated, rightfully so, and all he really said is his future is uncertain. Not a good thread title.
If he's pissed at the decision making of Lafleur, it'd make things super awkward getting traded to the Jets and working under the decisions of Lafleur.
I think he's pissed at how they handled the offseason. Draft certainly didn't help; backup QB, backup RB, backup TE first three rounds. The picks make sense in isolation, but not together. Jeff Gladney, KJ Hamler or Chase Claypool probably puts GB in the SB.
Hmm what a strange response, I won't a run a TD when I could easily have done so but then try and force a throw next down. Bit weird that?
mybe he didn't think he could make it in. it sure looked like he could have though but it's a split second decision. he's the league MVP hard to shit on him for trying to make a tight throw
Fair enough but I am sure he will be stewing in his own regrets today and there is nothing worse than that.
I'm sure he's been thinking about it non stop since. the FG attempt was an awful call too. but man it looked like he could have gotten in relatively easily but even the best make mistakes
on that freeze frame he only has the 40 to worry about, running for the right corner would surely see him get past him safely but yeah he will know in his heart if he could have made it but the 3 pointer, fuck it was a Gase like call if ever there was one.
Just heard on TMKS that Rodgers said he didn't know they would kick the field goal on 4th; he said if he knew that they would kick the 4th then he would've attacked the play differently. Also, Rodgers isn't going anywhere.
Rodgers is going to be on the Packers next year. The Packers are set up to win now and so is Aaron Rodgers. They were a couple plays away from being in the Super Bowl and have built their whole team around him. This isn't an issue like the Lions or Texans where they have no shot at making the playoffs next year. You don't break up a Super Bowl contender because people are in a bad mood a few minutes after losing a conference championship.
packers are 27 mil over the cap to start the season. consider they need to clear another 10 mil to sign rookies so in reality they need to cut 37 mil of cap room. 19.5 can come form cutting both starting OLBs they can also cut their starting ILB for another 6 mil. and still not be under the cap. on top of that here is the free agents they will corey linsley (starting C) kevin king (starting CB) allen lazard (starting WR) aaron jones (starting RB) there is a good chance Gb loses about 8 starters or so this offseason if not more. they won't be nearly as good next year. rodgers cap hit is 37.5 mil and the cap will drop to 180 mil (20.8%) it's too much for them to keep a good team.
The Packers have the opportunity to extend and rework contracts to avoid the type of turnover you are talking about. Barring injuries, they will be a contender next year. The Packers could cut veterants like "Preston Smith ($8M), Dean Lowry ($3.3M), Chrisitan Kirksey ($6M), Rick Wagner ($4.25M), and Devin Funchess ($1.3M)" "Green Bay could save $13.7 million by reworking Rodgers’ deal, $7.8 million for Bakhtiari’s, and $7.5 million for Smith’s, which totals $29 million in additional cap space." "Packers could save roughly $5 million in cap space next offseason by extending Adams."
yes they can restructure for another shot but regardless what they do, they will be weaker this year. they will lose starters really good ones with no replacements. they won't be as good next year as they are this year unless they get like 3 rookies that play at a pro bowl level.
If he thought they were going for it on 4th, then wouldn't choosing to throw that ball on 3rd be even more perplexing? Even if he comes up short there on a scramble, wouldn't it be easier to convert a 4th and 4 or less? He's full of shit.
not really. at the goaline everything is tighter and windows are smaller. less space more players in each area. unless it's inches away to QB sneak being 1 yard out vs 5 yards out isn't much of a difference
