This is the truth. People really want Watson because they want to be entertained by him next season. They have no actual interest in the patience it takes to rebuild. Football is the entertainment industry and its not unusual to want entertainment right away. Especially if the last few shows you watched were really boring.
Pretty sure the pro Watson crowd wants him because he’s a good qb and that would help win more games. Which , you’re right, would be entertaining.
and it's understandable. doesn't make you dumb at all. it's why fans wouldn't make a good GM and why madden isn't real life. i'm sorry if anyone took it as an insult wasn't meant that way
No, because he's actually *shocker* a good QB. Seems like the people that don't want Watson is due to Stockholm Syndrome and used to bad QB play, lol.
how many games did he help houston win this year despite putting up pro bowl numbers? how many wins do you think he gets houston next year? and the year after? watson isn't dumb. he knows this. he's pulling a jamaal adams. doesn't want to be on a team he sees as a losing team for the next 4-5 years and wants out.
No because Jamal Adams pulled it right before signing a contract. Watson is doing right after he signed the contract. Can you imagine if Adams did it right after signing a contract and cost the Jets 10 million in guaranteed money?
yet they are picking 1 spot behind us (well would be if they didn't trade it away). so you'd be happy paying watson 40 mil to get us 4 wins?
true the watson thing is worse. he committed to houston for an additional 4 years on top of his final 2 years left with a no trade clause. played 1 year then wanted out.
Also, he is forcing his way out which will cost Houston 25 million in dead cap. He is literally screwing everyone.
You're assuming the Jets would not build around Watson. If they got him and did nothing to improve the team, then yeah, I would not be on board for getting Watson, lol. Duh?
11.06 mil in dead cap which isn't awful but still. The issue is though in 2022 the texans will be over the cap to start the year with watson and only 22 players under contract. and thats assuming they cut cooks and watt this year which seems like they have to. so moving on from him now may be their best bet. they'll never build with his cap hit i'm factoring in the cost of draft picks and cap room
Nah some fans just want to root for a winning team in the long run instead of perpetually "rebuilding the right way" while run by a cast of stubborn traditionalists who think it's still 1990.
Michael Smith, on point. 4 minutes that are worth it to hear a national media guy spitting the truth.
