You left out the Jets beating the Giants in the preseason in 1969 at the Yale Bowl to follow up their Super Bowl win.
Before or after their Superbowl wins? Interested to know if the coverage of them changed basically because they were successful in the right era.
The Giants have always been the #1 football team in the NYC metro area, even when the Jets won the SB. Yes, the Jets did steal some of their thunder for a few years, but the Giants still got the most favorable press on average. And when Hess decided to rent GIANTS Stadium for the Jets to play in he cemented our status as second class citizens. This was not erased by the Johnsons doubling down on this massive failure by building another stadium to share with the Giants, even though this time it doesn't have either team's name on it. IMO, the Jets will remain the "red headed stepchild" to the Giants until they return to NY in their own stadium.
I have a better idea. Build a green roof on the Metlife stadium with J-E-T-S letters on it. Should have built the roof to begin with to improve from the old stadium, instead of pure BS stadium reconstruction to basically put back the same thing that was there before and charge more money.
Leonard Williams looks less fat this year, probably from all the Judge laps. He was a beast this year, particularly in the 2nd half of the season in the Seattle and Dallas wins. I'm hoping Saleh can maximize Q's potential like the Giants did with Leo. I don't care what D formation he plays, I want an attacking front that can apply pressure without exotic blitzing. I also hope the days of drafting 1st round DL is long gone.
He got this far being himself, why change, maybe Judge can take a few tips from Saleh once he goes public.
