Indeed. It's why I would have slightly preferred Smith or Daboll.

But if you're going to hire a defensive coach, you can't do much better than Saleh.

True. Just pointing out that it's not the preference necessarily from that tree. Watch this kid. He's PERFECT for that system. I love Najee Harris and would openly welcome him. But if they opt to bolster other spots (as teams normally should over runningback), I'd welcome this kid with open arms.

One cut and go at 220 pounds even out of the shotgun. He's a bowling bowl. Reminds me a bit of Nick Chubb.

I like this kid, looks like a guy that can be a longterm solution for the Jets.

You think Perrine is not capable of carrying the workload? Maybe with new HC and OC he will develop as a primary back.

I don’t think Perine was ever drafted to be the bell cow. He’s much better suited in a running back by committee which he might find himself in given the new staff and the way the Niners successfully ran the ball last year. I would much prefer to draft Harris or Etienne and have a stud that can do it all but I don’t think that’s the way we are headed.

Todd Gurley will be back on the market. One of the best at the zone running game. Signing him would allow the Jets to save the draft picks for something other than running back.

Has there ever been a more stark contrast than the one between our franchise and these stats?

Jesus. That's pretty amazing to look at.

I'm excited where this is going. Now comes the big test with the upcoming free agency and draft.

Yea after he took a few plays off to go fuckin hiking and Todd Bowles had to beg him to come back. I think it’s a little different this time around.

Exactly what Stinky said. I'd still imagine we keep Johnson/Adams too. San Francisco always had a stable of backs and rotated. I think this takes Najee Harris off the board for us as much as I love him.

Nah man. He obviously has chronic knee problems to not even play in the SB that year and his drop off has been massive. He's entering the runningback graveyard age as well at 27 to start the season. Look at his YPC drop-off and how sudden it was.

I hope we learned out lesson with the Frank Gore and even Bell experiments RE: old deteriorating runningbacks.

Position has needed a youth infusion since Curtis Martin left - even though Thomas Jones gave us some great years and LT was alright.

I am not happy about Sam potentially coming back. They really should draft a QB (even if its from a trade down). Sam has been making the same mistakes since college. He isn't suddenly going to get fixed in one offseason.

I’ll tell you what... I hope we don’t have any fucking anti-vax idiots on offense especially in the WR room. They are going to need a full offseason switching to this offense. A lot of motion, a lot of new routes, new terminology... there’s a lot of work to be done and we can’t afford to have anyone missing.

Yeah, I'd be up for getting him. He runs "downhill", and shows a great knack for knowing when he's going to be brought down and then switching from being an open field runner to being a bruiser.

As an aside, any chance they could convince Howell to come out early and grab him? He looks like the real deal.

He's only a sophomore so he's not eligible. I was big on Howell early but have kind of soured on him. He's a guy whose game is predicated to an extent on his ability to move around out of the pocket but he is really slow and stuck in the mud when breaking the pocket (straight line speed is good enough, lateral quickness and foot speed is bad on the field).

Big arm, looks like he's decent enough going through projections. Does come from the Air Raid though. Spencer Rattler is the guy to watch next season from Oklahoma. He is the Heisman favorite (betting odds wise at least).
