I can't say if this is a good hire or not becuase I don't know much about him. I hope he's gonna be someone who pays attentions to the complete team. I'm rooting for him!

Honestly after the shit show we have seen with loud-mouth reckless Rex, emotionless Bowles, morbid Gase, I just need someone that can take control and lead by example and trust those around him. Saleh could be that guy and I am happy for him and this franchise.

I expect more people in the league may mention why he is a culture builder

This is getting near universal praise everywhere I read except for here.

I understand that's meaningless until we play some games but there's absolutely no reason not to be excited right now. It could be the second step (JD being the first) to a great new era for us.

Agreed TDK, one of the bright moments for this franchise in the past 10 years

What’s there to fix? He’s a bottom of the league Qb. Some of you folks talk like he was some upper tier Qb and just ruined by a previous coach but he was never that good to begin with. He was always more of a project. Saleh and JD will make a huge mistake if they tie their fortunes on Sam. I’m personally iffy on the hire but will let things play out. As I did with Gase, he deserves at least the benefit of the doubt to start with.

I saw that as well. Schefter bats .100 when he reports stuff, while this one was more of an opinion so it’s much less of a sure thing.

I must say he sounded very very confident though.

There is real truth to the idea that the Shanahan outside zone scheme makes the QB’s job much much easier and helps create production. However, I’m not really of the opinion that you say let’s make “bad” into “ok” I’d rather take a shot at making “good” into “great”

Regardless of whether we keep Sam or get a QB at #2 or lower....I thought we wanted an offensive coach.

We got a defensive guy who knows nothing about offense....and if his new OC is any good (big IF)...he is gone in 2 or 3 years.:eek::eek:

Well, the 9ers D kept Darnold and the Jets to 13 points just a few months ago, despite losing Bosa early on. I'm comfortable that if Saleh thinks he can work with Sam as QB then he is 'fixable' on that basis. I'll trust a DC who's prepared a game plan to use against him, a GM who didn't draft him and an OC (unconfirmed, but likely) that runs what it seen as the best fit for him to make that choice over media pundits and 'uber emotional' Jets fans. If they think he should be kept, we keep him. If they don't we move on.

Love this hire. He ticks every box for me. The more I've seen and read the more I like it.

I love all the praise this guy is getting, for a dude with minimal coaching experience, so I'm guessing it will last until year 2.5 before the universal option is for him to be fired LOL
