Saleh was Matt LaFleur's best man at his wedding. He's very close with the family, so it's highly unlikely that he'd (Mike) pull something like that

I could roll with Sam for 1 more year, and ive been very skeptical.

This looks like a great hire. He was very sought after and seems anti Gase.

If darnold sucks again, we can draft a qb and maybe sign a vet. It's a tough sell to think we're a playoff team next year.

Good call. I see a May 2020 report confirmjng the change. It was part of the revision of the Rooney rule.

Saleh's odds of being a HC this year before any interviews were pretty overwhelming: -500. He was going to be a HC, the question was for which team. He had plenty of legitimate interest, and JD clearly wanted him as the top choice, and it's pretty exciting to be able to get him. It's definitely going to be a fresh start with energy that the team really needs. Reminds me a bit of Rex Ryan's hire, but hopefully this time we will have a chance to draft a better QB than Ryan had to finish off the job.

No. They changed that rule this year. It no longer works that way.

This is my guy, check the video...I think Saleh gets a QB that matches his intensity. I think that is Fields, just going with a gut feeling as emotions are high tonight

    I'm fine with this

overall other than Meyer, I wasnt blown away with the 2021's offseasons crop or coaches. Saleh was one of, if not the best candidate.

I like his fire and passion. You know for all the crap Herm and Rex got, I would prefer that to Bowles and Gases stupified stoicism

I think Saleh will do better than Bowles and Gase, but what does that really mean? People here are elated as if we hired Parcells 1997 once again. I've seen plenty of coordinators who were as regarded (or more) than Saleh end up failing or just becoming average coaches. I'm not sure why the hype is this extreme. Yes we should be happy and a bit relieved, but Saleh still has a lot to prove

who will be our OC? Will he manage not to lose himself in the defense and have our offense fall apart(assuming we actually bolster our offensive talent)? Qb situation? Will he handle NY? tons of questions.

Incredibly pumped with this Saleh hire. With his intensity, player respect and defensive acumen he will bring our Jets to another level.

This is easily one of the top Jets coach hires in the last 20 years or more.

    Go Jets

I love this haha, give all credit to Joe. I don't think Saleh is here without Joe taking this over

Let's hope that it continues and that Woody doesn't meddle when he gets back. That's why I like C. Johnson better. At least he learns and makes changes. It may take him too long, but he gets there. Woody never has gotten there.

am with nc about keeping Sam if we dont STILL ADD ANOTHER QB.

lafleurs- matt has worked matt ryan, jared goff, marcus Mariota and now Rodgers. am sure he will speak with his bro or saleh or both about how he sees the qb class coming out and what he thinks of Sam. theres alotta really bad tape on Sam doing really stupid qb things and having crap mechanics.

keeping sam and completely standing pat at the qb position are not the same thing, the latter is not someting that i think is consistent with sanity.

am happy. i like the hire. i like saleh and feel positively about him.

not sure wtf NC is talking about"offensive continuity"..... means, what?? have continuiity with the shitty O weve been forever since having a decent 2015?

Also trash when your best linebacker for the last two seasons is Neville Hewitt.
