Keep in mind everyone here is a suffering Jet fan who just made it through 2 very tough years. I am sure a lot of people here have a lot of anxiety about this coach hire as it will shape our future. Many people are on the edge and are just ready to give up. So forgive us because we all walk over that line at times. Well all except for Brook who somehow is always amazingly nice. But when it gets down to it we are all Jets fans and we are deserving of some good fortune. So hang in there.

Don't forget me!! I'm like the most optimistic person on this board, even with the misery we have been through lol

In all seriousness, I really have put my trust in Douglas. Something about him and his history really lead me to believe he will turn this franchise around. I'm all in on him. I'm going down with the ship on this one if I'm wrong

Same. I've always come into a season supportive and optimistic.
    Slightly homerish if you will.
Until Gase. Last 2 years have broken me too. I've had zero optimism since that hire.

And now like Charlie Brown stepping up to the football once more, I can't help myself.
But a lil darkness from this era may stay with me this time.
    I can't unsee 2020 Jets football.

Well I'm the perennial Dark Sider after almost 60 years with this team and only one SB over 50 years ago, but I too believe Douglas is the right guy. If he's not though, I'm done.

I think this franchise has driven us all close to the breaking point at one time or another. I got real close after we won the 2 meaningless games to miss out on Lawrence. I'm too much of an optimist to quit on them for good though, and rooting for anyone else would feel hollow.

I get it completely though - this franchise has given us almost no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt on anything. They need to earn our trust back at this point and it's going to take quite some time and quite a lot of success.

There's no shame in that. This team has been enough to drive the sanest person crazy, a teetotaler into a raging drunk, and an angel into a demon. What chance do we all have? We're all a little fucked in the head anyway, or we wouldn't even be Jets fans! LOL

If you look at the Jets history we have been bad/good by decade.
    In 70s we were awful
    The 80s were great
The 90s were horrible until the last 2 years.
The first decade of this century was very good.
    The 2nd decade horrible
It is a new decade with a new coach and it is our turn to be good again. Plus we have JD.
All signs point to 10+ years of dominance. It is gonna suck to be a Pats fan.

I wonder what kind of Salehry he is looking for and if Christopher Johnson is willing to fork over the cash.

The key is - as in all things - balance. That's why I'm a Yankees and Jets fan (and if the Knicks ever become relevant again I'll think about resuming my support of them).

It's been an odd year. Outside of the the clusterfuck that is Easterly in Houston, no team seems to want to knock over the first domino.

As for Saleh, according to the Lions' beat, he's still in play for the Detroit job.

    Who knows?

Am not really all that much of a fan of running the other dude's offense.
Like any other team with a crap QB and WR injuries they were stinky, scheme or no.

Works best when you have a top 5 D as well.

I wish I wasn't all in on Saleh, now, I'm going to be underwhelmed with anyone else they hire.

There it is. If I am the Chargers I would not let him out of the building without a contract. Absolute perfect fit for that team.
