I agree, but I also don't think JuJu is totally innocent when it comes to team drama. They mentioned last night on the broadcast while Ben was calming JuJu down on the sidelines that it's something that happens a lot. He's a headcase and it was funny before, but now that he's average at absolute best it's become a hinderance.
Like most here, he's not my first choice but I said yes because if we don't get ARob, Golladay or a couple others I can't remember than yeah go get him. ARob is my first choice by a good bit.
That being said, if we were a team that had the culture in place, had the infrastructure in place... I'd be all for it. But we aren't. We are a trainwreck. Juju with a rookie head coach playing with most likely a rookie QB is just a recipe for disaster.
A year ago Stefon Diggs was a headcase and a train wreck waiting to happen Receivers can be divas but sometimes its worth it because it makes the QB better, especially if they've maintained max effort during their shenanigans, and I think JuJu is that type of guy
Bills had already instilled culture in their building by the start of this season. On top of that, they were set up for success talent-wise. We are neither of those things. If push comes to shove and we end up with JuJu on a one year "prove it" deal because he isn't getting longterm offers elsewhere, I'll be fine with it. I just don't think it's a match made in heaven by any means.
We already had 2 drama queen social media nutcases in Jamal Adams/Le'veon Bell.Huge pass!! Not to mention WRs should not be the priority. It is wiser to spend on Oline.
Disagree on this only because they have the money to do both, if it was a one or the other proposition I'd be right there with you. This is also a very good FA crop. I just want absolutely no part of that malignant personality. A-Rob, Golladay, Curtis Godwin, now those are names I'd be interested in.
I don’t see JuJu as some malcontent. He’s talented and I think he’s been dragged through the mud due to an offensive philosophy which essentially made him a glorified slot WR. He lined up a ton in the slot and he had an average under 10 yards iirc. He had a big time year two years ago, I don’t think he’s regressed by any means. He runs good very good routes and is only going to get better. Alongside Mims and potentially Crowder would be intriguing. Although you maybe missing the deep ball aspect, which is what Perriman could do. I’m a bit torn on the potential of JuJu here, I do think he’s a damn good WR though.
Not sure all the shouts for Goladay at top money is a good call tbh, you'd like to see him prove he is healthy.
How many different ways are there to say no? JuJu would be an awful addition to this team. Talented player but he’s going to get grossly overpaid.
Which is why we need to develop our own WR's. Losing Robby hurt because of how little he got from the Panthers.
If we pick up a WR I think Godwin is the guy. I like Juju too because he’s young and would fit in the locker room. I’d be ok with Golladay. A Rob I want no part of because he’s getting old for a WR and probably only has 2 good years left.
And all of those players are better receivers than JuJu. I’d rather pay any of those guys. Plus, FA is going to be really weird this year. A lot of teams don’t have money. The top end guys are going to either take significantly less to play for cap strapped teams or take normal money from teams like the Jets or Jags. They also might take 1-2 year deals with fully GTD money and hit FA again. The 72M the Jets have is a metric shit ton considering they have 40 something players on the roster for next season already and the salary cap is going down. They can realistically have 90M after cuts.
Why is Golladay better? He only has 2 good seasons in the book out of 4 and 1 of those injury ravaged.
