The thing with Pat Fitzgerald, is that, not only Is he a great coach that gets the very best out of his players. He Is also a culture changer type who has a proven record of changing programs around. In all phases of a team. We probably need a HC who actually takes charge of every phase of the game and changes the culture. I would be stoked to get this coach as our new HC.

Yes he and JD are supposed to be very close. There was an article 3 months ago speculating on Fitz as our next HC because of his tight relationship with JD.
Not sure he would come here but he would be a real good hire. Certain guys just know how to get the most out of their players and he's a prime example of that.

I'm all in on Pat Fitzgerald. The fact that he's went to as many Big 10 championship games as he has with two and three star recruits is unbelievable. He's also been coaching a long time and has probably taken Northwestern as far as he can so I can see him wanting to move on. The ultimately accountability HC too.
Mullen is a douchebag though and does nothing but make excuses when he loses. I'm a big fan of his system and ability to get the most out of his quarterbacks. Not a fan of his personality though. The College game is where the NFL is going offensively. Beyond that if JD is serious about changing culture, college HCs understand team culture as well as anyone in the sport.Its how they make their living. The fact that JD has strong relationships throughout that sector it makes a ton of sense
Kurt, I heard he isn't an innovative HC and his offenses are mostly Ground and Pound. Do you think this is a red flag for pass happy NFL?
