Not as our HC, but as Belichik's heir apparent. NE is looking for a new QB coach after Jedd Fisch moved to the college ranks. In comes Adam Gase for the job interview. Adam and NE's OC Josh McDaniels are tight. Their football history goes all the way back to being interns for Nick Sabin.

IF Josh McDaniels puts in for Adam Gase with Bill, then Gase has a big in in NE. QB coach is usually one step down from OC or even HC. Gase has a silver tounge and seems to have a way of getting tight with the owner (JohnsonTwins now, maybe Robert Kraft next)

Long story short, we could be FACING Gase in a few years for the next 10.

Adam Gase could be Patriots' next QB coach, NFL reporter says

With the Jets holding a 2-13 record it is expected Jets head coach will soon be fired

The New England Patriots have an opening for quarterbacks coach and one name being bandied about is raising eyebrows in the AFC East.

Jedd Fisch stepped down as head coach Bill Belichick's QB coach last week to run the program at the University of Arizona. Now Belichick may look no further than his former employer and long-time rival -- the New York Jets -- to fill the void. With Jets head coach Adam Gase rumored to be fired at season's end he is now being mentioned as a potential QB coach candidate for the Patriots next season.

Senior NFL writer Ben Volin of the Boston Globe appeared on "The Greg Hill Show" on Boston sports talk station WEEI on Monday morning, and said the Gase situation is worth monitoring.

"I heard some buzz last night. You hear the name to watch for the Patriots' next quarterbacks coach: Mr. Adam Gase," Volin said on the show. "He goes all the way back to 1999 on the Michigan State staff with Josh McDaniels. They worked under Nick Saban. Adam Gase and McDaniels are tight. Look out for that one."

Gase and current Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels spent time together as assistants at Michigan State under Nick Saban. Gase was also the wide receivers coach on McDaniels' Denver Broncos coaching staff in 2009-10.

The Jets currently have a 2-13 record on the season, and it’s likely that Gase will move on this offseason.

Gase first became a head coach with the Miami Dolphins. He took the team to the playoffs back in 2016 but finished with a 13-19 record over the next two years, which led to his firing. He took over the Jets position in 2019, but only has nine wins in two seasons with the team.

Sorry NC...didn't see you already posted this in another thread! Is this good or bad for the Jets? It can't be bad, right?

As long as he's not on our payroll I don't care where he goes.

Good. It'd be the first sign Belichik ain't right in the mind anymore.

As long as Gase is out of NJ, I DGAF where he winds up for the next 10 years.

Belicheck and Kraft have now watched Gase in both Miami and NY.
Neither one of them are that fucking stupid.
Bill might just fire Josh M. If he even mentions Gase as an option.

If Gase winds up on the Patriots staff the Jets ought to file tampering charges against them.

What if Gase ends up coaching the Jags with Trevor Lawrence? The cruel world knows no bounds!

I have a feeling that this is just Belichick trolling the Jets and our fanbase. He needs a bit of fun after suffering the humiliation of not having a winning season for the first time since the Bush administration.

Gase as QB coach in NE is kind of frightening. He might be able to talk Peyton Manning out of retirement to fill the gap that Brady left when he went to Tampa Bay...

I think him and Gregg Williams should be done with coaching if skill mattered... but NFL is a little swampy and you get jobs by being buddy buddy.

I think he takes a year off then some poor team grabs him... but by coaching skill alone he shouldnt be in the league.

Peyton will be 45 with a major neck injury before next season starts. Maybe I'm missing the sarcasm but there's zero chance of this happening and if it does it'll probably be ugly. Peyton wasn't exactly Peyton in his last season.

I could see bill bringing him in. He sucks as HC and we hated him from the start but he really is a good guy to have on your staff.

He breathes football. He's gonna lock himself in a room and watch film on your opponent the entire week even tho he watched all that film in his free time in the off-season. As a guy in the building you can pick his brain or maybe get a couple play calls or maybe ask what your opponents tendencies are in a game he's perfect.
