I mean he had one job and that was to tank and he blew it. So why keep him around? What to win 1 more game and blow the 2nd pick. He's not coaching for his job. Players have tuned him out a long time ago. Certainly not developing Sam.
At this point CJ would love to have a reason to keep him. He doesn’t want to pay this guy for sitting on his ass the next two years.
Not his fault. Of course he will try to win a game. He doesn't want his name be on record books for an 0-16 team. It was up to Chris the trust fund loser to fire him after 0-11 and tell the interim coach to start Morgan and the rookies. This isn't on Gase. Don't hate him. He did what he had to do. Hate our idiot owners. Yo Chris, you suck man. You are waste of your father's sperm.
Christopher Johnson is the biggest discrace in the history of NY sports and should remove his name from the ownership contract. He doesnt deserve to be owner of this team anymore. The NFL should allow fans to vote on ownership every 10 years.Being that we are the ones giving our money to buy tickets, merch, etc we should have a say atleast every 10 years to vote them out.
We can’t be worse than 2 so I hope we win out and Sam throws for 400 per game but yes f Gase F Johnsons
He wins 1 out of 14 games and there is actual concern that 1/14 ratio reflects an ability to consistently win games that we should be concerned about?
You know I want him gone, like retroactively to last season, but he ain't gonna get fired until after the last game, if then. Especially not on the heels of the first win of the season. But the REAL reason, as you know in your heart, is he ISN'T going to be fired..
They are keeping him for rest of season, they don’t like firing HC in season. He should be gone after end of last game. Hope Jacksonville wins meaningless game against Indy, the team they beat first game this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He's most likely still here because Johnson wants to find a reason to keep him. I wouldn't be surprised if one more win will save his job. Or even just competitive efforts in the final two games might be enough. It's not as though the decision makers at the Jets have become more intelligent over the course of this season, so we have to assume that they'll do make the wrong decision, as they do in most cases.
If we win the next two games CJ will probably give him a new contract and then we are totally screwed
Doesn't accomplish much now. The time to fire him would have been before this season, or to salvage this season. As long as he's fired at the end of this season, I'm good.
Teams are actually pretty good (relative) the game after firing their head coach. Since 2003, teams are 14-16 in the following game. Factor in that the teams are usually awful enough to make a desperation move like that and that's pretty good. He's been preserved here for a reason. The last thing the franchise may have wanted is anything to create a rallying cry and win streak. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ac...s-houston-texans-ny-jets-atlanta-falcons-2020
The point in firing him now is that teams can start interviewing assistants for open HC positions starting today. Keeping Gase to go 0-16 was a great idea. Without him and with a bad head coach this team would likely have to 6+ wins. But now the top pick is gone there is no need for Gase. Fire him now and let's get a jump on the interviewing.
