New Years Even against Oakland I'm trying to figure out what time the Jets will be playing next Sunday. While I agree that no one wants to see the Raiders nationally nbc is going to want a game that has playoff implications. I think NBC's biggest thing will be making sure that the game they have on Sunday night has some meaning other then two teams just playing out. If they choose the Bengals Steelers game and the Jets have already won then that game becomes meaningless. In the NFC all of the teams vying for the 6th playoff spot need any assortment of help to make one of those games be the sunday night game. And the Giants play Saturday night so that takes that game out of contention. I guess they could put the Broncos and Niners for a meaningful game. I don't have all the tiebreakers in front of me but it looks like the Jets game should determine the 5th or 6th playoff spot and that NBC will want a game there that will definetely determine a playoff spot. Not that I am saying I want this or don't want this just my opinion and I could be wrong.
As of now it's a 1:00 game, and I hope they don't change that, because then I doubt I will be going if they get the 8:30 game.
Thank god! This will be only my second live jets game ever, and I foolishly volunteered to work a half a day of work the next day...Don't think I wouldve been able to make the game had it been scheduled for 8.
Well, GB is win and in if the giants lose (believe it or not). Also, they have some tie breaker against the giants if both win -- although it appears that the giants win that one. Also, Favre and Madden. Like Dick Clark and New Years Eve. Miami v Indy got moved to 415
Because of the terrible NFC, Green Bay has as good of a chance as any to get in, and with Favre, they are eager to jump on his dick
Two things: (1) Favre's last game, perhaps. An opportunity for Madden to slurp him like he's never been slurped before. (2) If the Giants lose to the Skins, Green Bay will be playing for the playoffs, I believe. It still seems like a strange choice, although we don't know which games were protected by CBS and Fox. Actually, I'm thrilled, since I'll be at a New year's party, and won't give a damn about the game that I'll be missing!
Funny. No one in that NFC WC holds their own destiny. If the Packers and Giants both win, it comes down to strength of victory. The Giants hold a slight edge right now, but it would depend on how the rest of next weekends games play out.
that's good, 4 oclock game would be weird, it would be tough to get to any new years parties because people have to file out of the stadium, drive home, shower etc. more of a hassle. 1pm suits me fine.
Yea, it would be pretty pathetic to clinch a playoff berth in front of a half empty stadium. Hopefully the crowd gets in there on time, makes a ton of noise, and stays all game no matter what the score is
I am going to the game and was trying to figure out which game they would move. This works out very nice for me
