https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...phia-eagles-start-jalen-hurts-qb-carson-wentz I wonder if the Eagles would make a good trade partner with the Jets for Darnold?
They should've made the move earlier. They practically did when they drafted Hurts and dicked around with Wentz for too long this season. They just made that massive financial commitment to him so they sort of needed to so it's somewhat understandable. Pederson and friends are going to feel like real jerkoffs if Hurts can't move the ball with that garbage surrounding cast.
I just read that the Eagles think they can get a first rounder for him. They must be out if their fuking minds.
I don't know. People keep saying he's been terrible since he got hurt, but that's just not true. He's terrible this year, but in 2018-2019 he started 27 games and had a 66% completion percentage, 48 TDs, 14 INTs, and averaged 263 yards passing per game, while being sacked 68 times. A team with cap space and a good offensive line might think they could fix him. It's the $80 million in guaranteed money that's the big stumbling block.
I've watched him quite a bit over the past three years. There's a LOT to be concerned about. He's not inspired much confidence in Philly over the past three seasons. His numbers look good, but his overall play has been pretty sloppy and ineffective. He's steadily regressed since he came back from his injury. Honestly, I don't see the Eagles getting better than a 4th rounder for him.
He's worth another season from a different franchise for sure. And a QB starved franchise or win now ready program will probably be OK with the big money since it's what they'll pay on the open market anyway. It just makes too much sense for him to go to Indianapolis and reunite with Frank Reich. I don't think Denver would be a bad landing spot either. His time was finished in Philadelphia when he got hurt and Foles won that SB. You're 100% right though. He was good last year (unspectacular but pretty good) and won them a division title. Their two best offensive lineman have been hurt all year and they tried to hitch their wagon to two 30+ year old injury prone receivers and a glorified punt returner drafted in the first round/backup QB in the second.
