I doubt I'd ever be able to just give up on the team completely, but if Gase is back next year, I won't be at all active in my fandom. Won't watch another game, spend another penny on merchandise, etc.

Although it would be entertaining, to a degree, to see MetLife be a hostile stadium for the home team from the jump next year just because the owners were dumb enough to bring back the worst head coach in the history of professional sports.

I was going to say I'd be done absolutely, and maybe I will be, but if they eventually got rid of Gase and became a good team - i.e. consistent contenders for years - I might return. But the odds of that happening are remote. For all intents and purposes I'd be gone, and at my age, I might pass on before they became a team I'd want to spend any of my precious time on.

It will be a clean break.

If they ever make the playoffs, I would pull for them.
But if they are moronic enough to keep Gase my time on Sundays Is best used elsewhere.

I mean, after all, what would we be showing up for at that point? To watch him ruin another franchise QB? If we get Lawrence, we'll have already witnessed Gase make the only kind of history that he's capable of making, by going 0-16. With Lawrence on board, I'm sure as hell not going to root for that to happen again. Although, 0-32 would cement Gase as a legend among legends.

Totally agree!! If Joe Douglas isn’t giving full control over the next HC I’m done!! The only reason I hang on now is because I believe Douglas knows what he’s doing.. the Johnson’s brothers Clearly don’t have a clue of what to do ...Sam Darnold was ruined because the Johnson’s Hired Gase ... now we have chance with a second bite at the apple with possibly drafting Trevor Lawrence..... if Gase is his HC I’m checking out!!!

This season has taught me that I will likely be a Jets fan for life. (0-12). Ruined a QB with such promise. And here I am, typing in this thread.

However, it would be a really bad move to retain Gase and would send bad signals to the rest of the players in the NFL, that winning doesn't matter in New York. Toxic environments are fine.

So, I would still be a Jets fan, but my expectations would be 0 and I would care much less until he is inevitably fired. It's not happening though. He will be fired and Jets fans will be able to finally look to the bright future! :)

I will never stop being a Jets fan, and there is no way Gase is the coach next year.

If they keep Gase it will mean we can draft a stud playmaker in 2022 to join up with Lawrence as we will be picking in the top 5 again. Maybe that is the plan

I'd be done until they have a good team again.

seriously guys we're headed for 0-16. We can only go up from here.

You're not going to let a coach dictate who you root for!! there's a good chance you've been Jets fans longer than Johnsons -- certainly longer than Gase and Douglas who not that long ago were Fins and Eagles fans. Screw them

Instead we need to organize and march on Jets HQ or wherever the Johnson's are holed up and storm the castle. We can burn Gase in effigy next to the burning Mehta in effigy. We can fuel the fires with Johnson and Johnson products!!

kidding aside: in for a penny, in for a pound.

I might quit being a fan once we win the Super Bowl so i can quit on a high note. I've penciled in 2023

My decision will be based on seeing improvement and competitiveness. Maybe Gase is looking bad because of Darnold or vice versa. Maybe it’sa lack of talent, I don’t care what the reason is, if we suck next year all of my merchandise is going on offer up, if i can’t sell it I’m throwing it in the trash.

Please. Who cares who the coach is? You win with players. Happily there be less negative comments on this board if Gase is still in place. Regardless, the question is stupid.

The Pats crushed the Chargers on the road yesterday and are in the hunt for a playoff spot. That wouldn't happen if Gase was their HC. Coaching matters.

Change is the sign of sanity.

Anyone that wants to continue along this horrific ride without change needs to have their head examined.

It's insane to continue this horrific pattern just for the sake of claiming super fandom of a team that truly would be giving us all the middle finger by keeping such an obvious loser.
