The difference in last year's game is that he was engaging and pushing the offensive lineman a little bit and then trying to figure out the play while still engaged so he could fall off and try to make the tackle.

He's playing with aggression and trying to wreck plays without trying to figure them out because he now has a feel for the game that he's confident he will be in the right spot.

The kids had a phenomenal year without a ton of talent around him. We need to add an edge rusher and a cheap veteran hog run stopper and our front four will be very good. Dalvin Tomlinson from the Giants would be a good young piece to add but he's probably too expensive.

admittedly off topic: but Leonard Williams is having unhidden production this year

if he had done so with us, Q and Big Cat would give teams something to think about

He's making me eat crow every week. By the time the season ends, he might have better production than Chris Jones in year 2. I used Jones as a model for how Q could progress. Year 1 growing pains, year 2 improvement but not quite elite, year 3 become a monster.

Yeah you’re gonna need a guy to replace Henry Anderson next year. Fatukasi is stout against the run. Shepard is a decent backup and JFM is a very good Interior pass rusher. If you can get a cheap guy to plug in for depth that’s fine, but I’d be hell bent on trying to find a damn good pass rusher off the edge.

Who says he didn't do so with us? Jets fans expect huge things from the high picks. He's an example of "letting talent out of the building" Remind me what we got back in return and what we've done with the money saved? An improved, non-rookie Quinnen and Leo certainly would have made us better this year and it's possible he would be doing the same things, or better. I wasn't one of the giddy ones the day we traded him to the Giants. I know it's hindsight but it's another thing that's been gnawing at me lately regarding this team's lack of talent.

Jets have been doing this since John Riggins walked out the door.

This seems like a bit of hindsight, especially with Leo recently picking up his play the past few weeks. He has like 4.5 of his 8.5 sacks in the last 3 weeks.

And also have to keep in mind he is in a contract year, what happens when he gets paid? Does he keep up this level or revert?

Yeah totally forgot about that. I think Q is flashing a bit more then what Leo has done in his time as a Jet, moreso as a pass rusher. the contract he'd be seeking would be expensive...i don't think the dline has missed a beat, especially with the emergence of JFM and Fatukasi as complimentary players alongside Q

If we compare that he played the most snaps of his career yet he has had several better games stat wise, you can rate yesterdays game as just decent. But yes it was above average. He is a star, maybe close to becoming a superstar. But I hope he doesn't make the pro bowl this season. Keep him hungry and with something to prove.

There was a lot of chatter about how Ed Oliver was better... that has turned out to be false as well.

Quinnen only played 48 snaps yesterday. Not sure why? He had 4 tackles and 2 assists. Allen was a game time decision and sat out. On to next week. Go Jags!

    Quinnen Williams

    30 tackles
    21 assists
    6 sacks
    2 forced fumbles
    553 defensive snaps

    Josh Allen

    7 tackles
    6 assists
    2.5 sacks
    397 defensive snaps

I've said it before...we don't see them, we hardly know them, they're invisible....but the ASSISTANT COACHES are critical to how these guys play. It's not the HC or OC or DC who work with them everyday...it's the position coaches.

Look at Bill Callahan with the work for us and other teams on the OL.

We need top-flight assistant coaches next year.

How's he doing with Buffalo ? Didn't he have a legal issue, too ?

He's been pretty pedestrian and in fact he was taking some heat recently from whoever was on commentary last week for being underwhelming in year 2. He did have a legal issue but I think it was dropped. Must be something about playing DL that makes guys want to carry guns.
