I think they want an OT.....Sewell is the top guy ? I didn't know he is sitting out all year. Wow.....could maybe lead to him sliding.
Actually we could have had Manning if Parcells had not screwed up. Archie said he called Parcells and told him Peyton wants to play for you but he won't come out unless you agree to taking him with the 1st pick. Parcells would not commit so Peyton stayed in school.
Parcells was a GREAT coach but a very mediocre GM fucking up the Peyton thing and then doubling down by passing on Orlando Pace were two TERRIBLE decisions
I completely agree with this Sam's time here is done. He would be under the biggest microscope next year If we pass on Fields. The second Sam has a bad game or even just a horrible int we would all be going for his throat. Between him not being that great and his contract situation it's just much easier to start over with another QB. At this point I really think Sam is just a reclamation project for another team to deal with Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
So after the Jets win 3 games this year and end up picking like 6th overall again, it's going to be especially rewarding to watch Josh Allen hoist a Lombardi Trophy while the Jets are tossing Sam on the scrap heap.
That's not so....it's twisting the facts on the internet. Peyton was always returning for this 4th year. He didn't want to go early. The only way he WOULD have if Parcells promised him he'd take him #1. But even if Parcells told him that, my conversation with Gary Myers is that Peyton was not coming out early.
Jags got to win today.. Glennon the bean pole is in.. Also crossed my mind they are tanking too as Minshew is questionable.. you would think if he’s somewhat healthy he’d play
Silver lining, if the refs are crooked, that should play in our favor. No way does the NFL want Lawrence in Jacksonville (unless they're secretly planning to move them to London).
This game today scares me.....but a bit less so after the Dolphins lost to Denver. The Jets will get a jolt from Sam playing......Tua is very erratic and I think it's 50-50 that Fitz comes in at some point.
Fitz is starting....I think this is good for the Jets because I think he's more likely to win a shootout with Sam.
It's not like the NFL has never mandated how the refs call games to get a certain outcome. The NFL is the largest video game in the world, with the Commissioner's office handling the joy sticks, with the gambling industry looking over their shoulder.
Aside from doubting this ever happens -- unless you want to count how Favored Sons like Brady can't be breathed on if you even push them and it's roughing the passer -- they aren't affecting games to affect draft order to affect players taken.
Why not? They affect the games to produce more revenue. The main way to do that is cooperating with the betting industry, but they also do it to keep fan interest high. I don't believe they're pervasive or heavy handed with this, but they do it "judiciously" towards those ends. In that way, why wouldn't they tip the scales a bit to help a marquee player land in a marquee market?
