The only person who can ruin the tank is Sam Darnold himself. And he is fully capable. If he does, that means he is carrying a team with 0 talent, a terrible Head Coach and a lot of injuries to a couple wins against good teams (since that is all that remains on the schedule besides the Pats). If that takes them out of drafting Lawrence or Fields, then you roll with Sam in 2021. Dak is likely staying in Dallas no matter what.
The Jaguars have been a alot of close games this year...I can see them winning 2 more....I think they could even win tommorow.
Would strike me as odd that a guy like Douglas, who signals that he wants to build through the draft, would be willing to bring in the biggest piece via free agency. Not sure the timing would be right, either.
No way. The Jets can’t afford to tie up that much cap space in 1 player. Jets will take Lawrence or Fields if they’re in a position to do so. If not, I expect them to ride with Sam for another year or two and try to build the team up around him.
I don't want that smelly f**k! Pam Oliver said he smelled like shit when she went to interview him after a game. And she knows what a smelly football player normally smells like. This guy has something else going on. I want his smelly ass off our sidelines!
Do the Jets really need to make another Neil O'Donnell move at this point? Only difference is O'Donnell was not coming off a serious injury when he was signed 25 years ago.
You should probably go watch some games against good competition then? He's definitely played against strong teams and played well. Indiana has a great defense, they were 4-0 and ranked In the top 10 for a reason. They ARE a good college team this year as well. He got sacked 5 times but avoided at least 10 other would be sacks with his athletic ability. One bad game doesn't mean anything, even the best QBs in the league today had bad games In college. It was a learning experience for Fields. I think he will be better for it. We shall see. You're statements are bold but premature.
My statements may be premature but I’ve got to see fields play well against stiffer Competition upcoming games against Illinois and Michigan State will show me nothing...And I don’t expect much from Michigan because you guys handled them very well ...I’d like to see him make his reads a little faster...he has shown to be indecisive at times...that fourth and goal play Against Indiana I did not like ... he was under pressure throwing in the flat and he missed the Target... but there’s college playoffs coming up.. i’m not from Missouri but he’s gonna have to (show me)in the college playoffs
This isn't his first year playing QB at a high level though. He played against good teams last year and they will likely be In the playoffs this year too, so he will likely have that opportunity you're alluding to. That Is my one concern with Fields. It's not entirely his fault though, but, running progressions and reading a defense. That hasn't been a major focal point for OSU QBs. It doesn't seem to have changed with with Day at the helm either. I think he is more than capable but OSU is a big first read team, with athletic ability to bail you out If that's not there. Everything else that you want In a QB Is there though. I think this game will only serve as a stepping stone for him. This was his first "bad game" and he still played well, just not up to par obviously for what everyone expects from him. One game doesn't erase all the great tape he has out up I'm his short college career. If he consistently falls off the rails, I'll be concerned too. I'm not too worried about him having a bad game against a top notch defense like Indiana. They aren't a power house program but they actually have some really good talent this year and are playing strong as a team. They are a legitimate team this year. Anyway. I have a feeling you'll get what you're looking for In due time. I think he will flourish when that time comes. Time will tell though. I'm not just rooting for him because he's a OSU QB. I'm rooting for him because If we do miss on TL, I want JF to be an amazing plan B, just in case.
For what is worth, I want a QB whose strength is to read defenses first and foremost, has a quick release and is accurate. If you can’t read defenses quickly, in the NFL you never become elite.
Wait until after next week grasshopper... Jets / fish and Jax / Browns. If all goes well Jax gets win #2 and Jets are 0-11. That should seal the deal for the Trevor sweepstakes.
