in my opinion we wont draft a QB high in the draft this year, so out of those 4 prospects, who to draft next year, and why. Keep in mind our likely draft positions.

Brian Brohm was great last year...
His season ended Nov. 26 had the second-best passer rating
    1) Rudy Carpenter (Arizone State)
    2) Brian Brohm (Louisville)
    3) Vince Young (Texas)

    STATS:
    TDs: 19
    INT: 5
    YDS: 2,883

And he has good size at 6'-4" 224lbs

We were in cap hell a couple of weeks ago. Lets see what the team looks like before we write the season off. So far I'm impressed with what has gone on. I also think the league sucks. Pittsburgh and Seattle were in the SB last year did they impress you as teams that can't be beat?

The likelyhood is we will suck but if we get lucky with a few good FA's at a decent price and get this draft right we could be in the hunt. Don't forget getting rid of Herm is worth at least two games.

Exactly. There's no way we are in contention to draft any of those guys.

As far as just rating the QBs...who knows? It'll be between Quinn and Brohm, but they both have a whole season ahead of 'em. Right now I'd say Quinn, but there's plenty of time. Anyone know who Jay Cutler was this time in '05?

um...coming from a HUGE FLORIDA GATORS FAN...Chris Leak DOES NOT go to florida state. try the University of Florida!!! HUGE difference. that said, coming from a Gator fan, it pains me to say this but Leak has been one of the biggest underacheivers in a very long time. he's really unimpressive. He does show flashes of greatness, but it's always followed by moments of disgust.

If you think about it, the first 10 picks next year probably wont need a QB:

Houston - David Carr signed extension
New Orleans - drafting someone this year (Leinart)
Tennessee - probably drafting a QB, or maybe D'Brick
Green Bay - drafted Aaron Rodgers last year
San Fran - drafted alex smith last year
Oakland - drafted Andrew Walter and have Marques Tuiasosopo
Buffalo - JP Losman & Holcolmb
    Detroit - Harrington
Arizona - Warner, so they might draft a QB
    St Louis - Bulger
Cleveland - Charlie Frye & Dilfer
Baltimore - Boller, so they may want to draft a QB
Philadelphia - McNabb & Mike McMahon
Atlanta - Vick & Matt Schaub
Miami - Brees maybe? at least signing a QB through FA
Minnesota - with Daunte out, Johnson only a temp. THey could be drafting a QB 1st round
Dallas - Bledsoa, Romo, Henson (Europe NFL could do wonders for him)
    San Diego - Phillip Rivers
Kansas City - Trent Green & Herm's the coach... could see them drafting a QB early in the 1st round next year
New England - not a chance (Brady)
Washington - Brunnell & Jason Campbell
    Tampa Bay - Chris Simms
    Cincinnati - Carson Palmer
New York Giants - Eli Manning
    Chicago - Grossman & Orton
Carolina - Delhomme, Weinke & LeFors for the future
    Jacksonville - Leftwich
    Denver - Plummer
    Indianapolis - Manning
    Seattle - Hasselbeck
    Pittsburg - Big Ben

So what i'm saying is that good QBs could fall in the 1st round next year...

Cant argue with that at all, Leak struggles when there is any pressure anywhere near him. He wont be anywhere near the first round next year and probably wont be drafted till the second day. With that said Leak should be better next year but nowhere near the Quinn.

Leak shouldn't even be in the discussion and I'm not sure how well Troy Smith will transition to the NFL. That leaves it to Brady Quinn and Brian Brohm, and as of now I really don't care about next year.

I dont' know how you expect us to both predict the Jets finish and the QB's seasons next year, but if we have a chance at Brady Quinn we take him.
