Lawrence looked bad this week but who knows. You judge these guys based on how they play when it counts ie playoffs, conf champs etc.
It’s possible. If Fields can show he can speed up his processing in his 2nd season as a starter, I wouldn’t have an issue picking Fields over Lawrence. Despite his low INT numbers Lawrence throws too many 50/50 balls for my liking. It’s fine when you’re Clemson playing in the ACC w/ the best athletes in the conference. However, that will look completely different in the NFL.
Yes legler my QB guru. The talking head said Fields is much better passer than Colin Kapernick and can run as well if not better. He says bring Jim Harbaugh, pair him with Fields and you have a SB winning formula. I would love it if it happens to be honest.
Fields is more of a rhythm passer than Lawrence. So scheme will be important. He’ll be a good fit for a WCO for example.
Might be stating the obvious, but it looks like you don't believe Trevor is the generational prospect like many make him out to be. You were big on Mahomes. If you ranked the 3 as prospects would it be something like this? 1. Mahomes 2. Lawrence 3. Fields
I need to watch more games but right now I like Fields more than Lawrence. Mahomes is better than both though.
I think we still might have a win or two in us, which would probably blow the #1 pick for us just off the strength of our schedule. We obviously still need a qb and this kid seems to be lighting it up at BYU this season.

Fields looks like he will be a very nice consolation prize but Trevor Lawrence is QB1 today, tomorrow & every day til draft day.
I told you once we drafted Darnold, I had stopped looking at college QBs. I thought we wouldn’t have to for a while. So I literally did not watch one full game of Burrow last year. I live in SC so I have caught Lawrence games in passing his freshman year. I just started going back to look at this year’s top 3 since it’s looking like we may draft a QB again. 1st impressions I have Fields ahead but all 3 are very good. I like this crop better than 2018 that’s for sure.
Not sure why this needs to be said, Mahomes has been an NFL Qb for years now... that ship has sailed... Russell Wilson is also better than both of them + is a better QB right now than Mahomes too...
I like Fields more than Lawrence right now too. He’s got that calm, nothing is too big feel that Mahomes, Wilson have... and like those two, he has the athleticism you need to succeed at Qb in today’s NFL. I like Lawrence too, feel he is a safer pick... I just think Fields IS what today’s NFL has become.
@SoylentGreen So, you and @legler82 are telling me that there is still hope even if Jets don't end up with 1st pick? You guys would be happy with either? I love it. I am scared that Jags are worse than us and if we somehow 1 one game we are picking behind Jags. This gives me hope.
