For those who think Sam Darnold is an elite talent and he is/was ruined by the Jets, only time will tell. But the sooner Jets fans realize Darnold won't be a Jet next year and that the Jets are moving on, the better. The Jets will draft a QB with their first pick next year, mark my words.
If the Jets get the #1 pick, you can bet they'll pick Lawrence. They'll trade Sam and maybe get a 2nd round pick for him.
I think Sam has tremendous talent and the drive to win and in the right coaching hands, can do very well. Currently, he is NOT in the right coaching hands.
Agreed. Perhaps not tremendous talent, but definitely has potential with the right weapons and better coach.

He got sacked 5 times today. I’m not defending him, but our line is still terrible. He does dumb things but it’s hard to really evaluate him with a line this bad. We’ll be taking Lawrence in the draft, but nobody can play with a line like this.
I wonder how James Morgan is doing in practice. It might be worth getting him some time here somewhere down the stretch so we can see if he has anything. I saw enough from Sam today to know that he's not the guy. Knew that before today, but he just clinched it today. He'll be a serviceable backup in this league, maybe a middle-of-the-road starter somewhere down the line, but he's not a franchise QB. Never again should an NFL team draft a USC QB and expect him to be anything other than a serviceable backup.
Big catch by Donovan Peoples-Jones. He was a 6th round pick. I liked him out of Michigan. He probably would be our 2nd best WR right now. He’s probably the 4th-5th WR on CLE’s depth chart.
I counted 2 of those sacks (could of been more) were on all out blitz and Sam just isn’t recognizing this and taking these sacks. Sam doesn’t read defenses well and he needs to anticipate this and either hot read or throw right behind where the blitz is coming from. This OL isn’t world beaters but having a QB as bad as Sam, he would make any Oline look worse if you just blitz him time and time again.
