Anyone lucky enough to get traded out of our locker room to a team like the 49ers already hit the jackpot. Buy a lotto ticket while your hot.
This is almost as good as the Brooks Bollinger trade. All kidding aside I love the idea of accumulating massive amounts of draft picks. I really like how JD manipulated the draft moving up and down. More picks means more manipulating. It appears we should be on line for some comp picks in 2022 with all our expiring 1 year contracts.
Gotta add about 10 late 6th round compensatory picks to that--so its like 20-25--one year removed tho as we're giving 2021 for their 2022.
Could have got one comp pick for bell? If he was just patient, but Gase wanted him out. I suppose bell’s contract not up, so no. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm down to trade Quinnen Williams and Marcus Maye too. Because Trevor Lawrence is going to need as many offensive weapons and O-Lineman as possible. And I rather trade our 7th's in order to receive 6th's lol I love what JD is doing and the more I think about it the more I'm enjoying the Jamal Adams picks because with two extra 1st round picks? If used on offense? Say WR and O-Line? Can really help a kid like Trevor Lawrence become special and successful.
Don't we have the most cap space by far? In a year where there are likely to be fewer blockbuster FA moves because of reduced cap. This would indicate to me that the Jets will be major players in FA this off season, which will offset any players lost due to 1 year contracts and mean comp picks are unlikely.
It's tough making deals this year; with no OTAs, shorter training camp and no preseason games there just aren't as many bags of used footballs hanging around to trade a guy for.
I believe if they didn’t want bell they would have to cut him as he had 2 more years after this one so in that sense they would not be eligible for a comp pick.
I doubt it, JD will sign more FA this off-season and next off-season after Bell's contract expires, so its not likely they will get any comp picks the next 2 years.
We do have the most and there may be many cap casualties because of the reduced cap. The end result might be a lot of one year deals or deals where money is spread out to reduce the cap hit in 2021.
jet's have not managed to get 5 good/servicable players through the last 5 drafts combined so hoping to get that from each draft is looking a tad optimistic
