Jets are trading LB Jordan Willis to the 49ers per NFL Network. The former Bengals 3rd round pick has been active for two games this season
Still waiting to see the compensation but I imagine its a 7th rounder. But if anyone was doubting it, doubt no more, Joe Douglas is going to sell as many players as he can to accumulate as many picks as he can for the next 2 seasons. Names to watch before trade deadline - Darnold, Crowder, Maye, Q. Williams, Poole, Hewitt
Did he even play? Low 6th for high 7th... so basically moving up 10-15 picks. Could possibly make a difference, but not much. But got something for nothing I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We now have the following: 2020 - 9 picks 2021 - 9 picks 2022- 9 picks 13 of the 27 picks are in the first three rounds. Douglas is stock piling picks right now!
Its what the ravens did and still do. If you can get 5 good/serviceable players each draft, you can build a good core. If you go to any head coach and say we have the #1pick, the most cap space in the league and loads of draft capital in the next few years, its attractive. Joe isnt looking at next week, its the next 3 years hes building, and at last we have someone looking at the long term future of the team. Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk
Douglas is thinking like a GM that will be around for years to come, not like a I better win now to save my job GM.
Love it. If we can secure the #1 pick, get Lawrence and fire Gase we have a legitimate shot at turning this thing around for the long haul.
