I don't think Dallas will be interested. Is Sam that much better than Dalton right now to warrant a better pick than we can get if we wait till the offseason?
Doubt Dallas is interested in Darnold - but if they called and offered a 2nd or higher, I would pull the trigger (likely not happening in season). The reality is Joe isn't going to pass up drafting trevor lawrence with the first overall pick if the opportunity presents itself. Whether we like it or not, Joe did not pick Darnold and aside from hoping things worked out, Joe will use the pick to cement his foot print on the team which has not yet done. I think more realistic would be 49ers working a deal out for Darnold and having him go back to cali.
I feel bad you still are so involved with this team this year you came on and created this thread 2 min after Dak got hurt. I emotionally detached a few weeks ago.
Not saying they'd get it right now, but I wouldn't trade him unless I got that in return. Put his with a good coach and decent talent and he can win a SB, what more do you want from a QB? And no, they're not getting Mahomes, and for all the hype, who knows FOR SURE that Lawrence is the next Mahomes?
Oh I agree with a real team and a real coach I think Sam will be a more than just a functioning quarterback it’s just there’s no way we’re getting a number one pick for him would be lucky to get a second round pick
I'm in the "don't give up on Darnold yet" camp, but agree that he is probably expendable if they get Lawrence. But to trade him BEFORE that happens? Dumb! Correct that: NY Jets dumb!
