Maybe the Jets can score some points if the other team only has 5 players left, but the odds are not in their favor
Titans vs Steelers game has been cancelled for week 4. To be played at a later date after 1 more player + 1 staff tested positive this morning. I've seen people talk about moving Ravens v Steelers to week 8 and play Titans vs Steelers week 7, but I don't think this will be the only outbreak. Create a week 18 and 19 (if needed) for COVID make up games.
The NHL and NBA had no problems because they played in a bubble with no travel, no fans, and no leaving
the NFL should have played a shortened season with multiple bubbles, similar to the MLB playoffs. Put 2 divisions per Bubble 6 games with your divison and 4 against the opposite for a total of 11. Then combine the playoff teams from each conference into a bubble until combining again for the super bowl.
Yep. And they also don't have the logistical nightmare of having 53 man rosters + practice squads + 20 coaches + all the trainers and strength and conditioning staff, etc. Don't forget all of the equipment needed for football teams and not just pads, but practice pads, training equipment, plus the field size just for practices. Yeah it would've been tough. The NBA did about 3.5 months but they started allowing families in when the playoffs started I think and it was just a way easier proposition for those teams because of the sports. And they also cut their teams down to what? 24?
It took the POTUS being airlifted to the hospital via Marine One for the WH staffers to get it through their thick anti-science skulls that masks work against this plague. Who cares if it's a dog & pony show. They agreed to the rules and it's a good habit to have in these uncertain times.
Not to mention the vastly larger number of players and staff per team. Maybe for the playoffs they switch to bubble. My above plan is best case, not anything I would expect to be implemented.
Cam Newton has tested positive for Covid. Un-freakin-believable. The news these past 72 hours have been insane!
Raiders have 1 positive. Gillmore on Pats positive. Titans have 2 more positives. NFL said they would forfeit games if teams can't get this under control, what a joke that would be. Steelers vs Titans gets moved and rescheduled because it was easy to do so, but not Titans vs Bills has a chance of a Titans forfeiture because it isn't easy to move the schedule around. Why does Pitt have to replay the game and Buffalo gets a win? Very dumb IMO.
