They could cram, can’t be worse than current! Work less of script. Keep things simple. Build of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You can't change systems in the middle of a season. That would be a total cluster f**k. There isn't enough practice time to accomplish that. I don't really care who they promote from within, but that's the only reasonable move.
I understand your point, but my point is that this team not really being coached anyways, couldn’t get much worse! Plus most folks on here want #1 pick, it would be ultimately tanking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'd anticipate Williams, but I could see Boyer getting the nod. He's been the teams special teams coordinator since 2016 and has always had the most consistent units.
Williams is the move or else I'd imagine he would stop giving a fuck completely too and we might as well fire him as well. You can't promote Boyer or Jefferson or one of those guys ahead of Williams just in terms of making sure one of your top two coaches is retained with his head & heart in it. And I'm assuming Loggains walks the plank with Gase since they're siamese twins anyway.
If you are going with Cooter, you have to fire Williams too. You would have to promote Cooter to OC and Williams to HC
In my opinion, Williams must go too, he is probably part of the cancer as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It could be done. For example, say the Jets brought in Mike Smith (he's 61, 67-50 record as a HC, and was in the league up until 2018, so he's not out-of-touch). Fire Gase and Loggains. Elevate Jefferson or Cooter to run the Offense. Let Williams run the D. The coordinators call all the plays. Smith manages the clock and dictates philosophy, i.e.: what kinds of practices, game strategies, etc. he wants run. I'm not saying this would be fun for anybody, but it sure wouldn't be worse than what we've got. But you can't say it can't be done. I've seen successful leadership changes in the middle of things a lot more complicated, and with a whole lot higher stakes than a football season.
I’d be ok with giving Williams the boot at this point as well. His defense is completely uninspired and he’ll be gone next season anyway. Let’s see what the younger guys can do.
Wouldn't hurt my feelings, either. Nothing is going to make this team noticeably worse, short of the players just quitting, so the quicker the house cleaning starts, the better.
IMO it's a bad look to bring in a guy from outside the organization and then search for another coach during the offseason. And there's nobody outside the organization available right now who I'd want to be the long-term coach.
1) I really don't see how the Jets could present any worse of a "bad look" than they are presenting right now, short of having somebody show up in blackface or something equally offensive. 2) There is absolutely nobody INSIDE the organization who I'd want to be the long-term coach. 3) The leading recommendation for interim coach right now is "Bounty Gate" Williams, but we should be concerned about a "bad look"? *Note, this is all theoretical anyway, the Jets aren't going to take my suggestions.
1. Never underestimate the Jets. 2. I know, the point of an interim is to get Cooter in charge of the offense because he's better than Gase. 3. The bad look is that you're bringing in a completely new guy and then telling him to leave after the season. I guess if you're up front about it, that's okay, but who on Earth would want this job for just this season?
u have to do interim from within.....this isn't like the other sports. it should be williams. there are no other choices. perhaps he has a bounty on gase. LOL.
