I'm really interested to see if Boy Wonder can coach his way out of their disastrous cap situation over the next couple years.

They're $6 million over before the Ramsey re-signing it looks like. They're going to have three players account for about 40% of their cap with draft picks in only the 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th round next year.

If he can it it will be a massive achievement. I think they will be in a tailspin 2-3 years out from now.

And in one week, Tre White's deal is already a bargain.

This deal is horrific for a few reasons. #1 Ramsey is not the hands down best shutdown corner in the league. It's really close between Tre White, Ramsey, and Stephon Gilmore. #2 the Rams now have almost $80M invested into only three players (Ramsey, Goff, and Donald). But the cap is roughly $200M, leaving only $120M left to spend on the other 50 players that make up an NFL roster. If you do the math it comes out to about $2.4M per player. You can do all sorts of tricks with frontloading and backloading contracts to get around this but it's still an awful spot to be in. They won't have any depth anywhere.

And #3 Ramsey has had a history of not being dialed in or interested. Now that he got paid, how committed is he going to be? If I'm paying a corner that kind of money, I don't want this to be a question mark.

Rams legit had NO cap space but worked out ext for Ramsey, Kupp, and now Woods.
