Right now. So what QB is Sam Darnold better? Yikes. I know the situations are different for every team. Take off your green goggles and let this sink in to your brain. Look at the stats - Look at the rankins since 2018. Lamar Jackson - Hell No Big Ben - No Mayfeild - No Burrow - N/A but probably no Tannehill - No Minchew - No lmao Watson - No Rivers - No Allen - No Fitzpatrick - No lmao Cam - no Mahomes - no Carr - no Herbert - n/a Lock - no Jones - no Wentz - no Dak - no Haskins - YES Rodgers - no Cousin - no Trubisky - EVEN Stafford - no Brady - no Brees - no Bridgewater - no Ryan - no Murray - no Goff - no Wilson - no Jimmy g - No
Yes. I'm disappointed in him. You can only blame o line and weapons for so long. He has not shown ability to make players around him better. Coming from a Sam die hard supporter I hope we draft Trevor. He has an aggressive style of play and attacks DOWN FIELD with both accuracy and arm talent. Darnold reminds me of a dink and dunk Pennington after multiple injuries Sam for 3 years now has looked horrible when trying to attack vertically down field. His arm isn't magical. Sorry Sam. But if All Pro #33 Jamal who led a tough defense had to go? Then you've gotta go too by ends year because he's about to have 0 pro bowls. 0 all pros. 0 playoff wins. 0 playoff appearances. And a horrible QB Record heading into year #4. Players like Jamal you pay. Sam Darmold has been all HYPE.
The real problem with Sam Darnold is you don't really know what you have in him under the current regime. I think the biggest mistake the Jets can make is to cut him loose at the same time as Gase. This is the same mistake Miami made with Ryan Tannehill. Remember that Tannehill looked like dogshit pretty much his entire time in Miami. On the Titans, he took over a 1-5 and took them all the way to the AFC championship game.
He’s definitely more talented than some of them but he’s in/ has been in a much worse situation...some of it is on him too no doubt. Need improvement and fast
I am at the point where: If we have a top 5 draft pick and we are able to draft Lawrence or Fields without having to move up, then we should pull the trigger. Seeing as the Jaguars and Redskins won today and were both favorites to land them, I think we currently in this sweepstakes. Otherwise if we can't get a 1st round QB, then it makes sense to just roll with Sam for another year under a new coach. We must go offense with our early round 1 pick at receiver or tackle. We need to show urgency as we are making the decision on Darnold in 2021.
LOL this fan base is one of the best, but worst at the same time. Sam didn't look good today... But don't act like he has an OC, QB Coach or head coach. Don't act like he's Duck Hodges, or have a supporting cast like Mayfield does. Josh Allen is a shitty QB... But Buffalo has done a great job surrounding him and putting him in a good position. The kid is 23. He has the worst offensive staff in the NFL. He was one of the bottom 5 WR cores in the NFL. I'm not apologizing for Sam, but see the clear picture. Adam Gase is a problem. Adam Gase sucks. That fat troll he calls an OC sucks. Joe D needed to draft another WR, not a fucking backup QB that didn't even dress. This fanbase and organization is going to get REAL divided if we do end up with the #1 pick with Lawrence. If this organization and Gase doesn't ruin Sam any further, I'd trade the #1 for the farm and get a fucking WR, more OL help and a goddamn pass rusher. FFS.
Im tried of making excuses for the kid but lets be honest... 0 playmakers ... BRAND new O line... to be expected
Lamar Jackson - Hell No ELITE QB Big Ben - No ASSUMING HE'S HEALTHY Mayfeild - No I'M NOT SURE HE IS Burrow - N/A but probably no TBD Tannehill - No TANNEHILL SUCKED UNDER GASE Minchew - No lmao LET'S NOT CROWN HIS ASS JUST YET Watson - No VERY GOOD QB Rivers - No ASSUMING HE HAS ENOUGH LEFT Allen - No CURIOUS WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THEY SWAPPED TEAMS Fitzpatrick - No lmao FITZ SUCKED TODAY Cam - no SAM WOULD PROBABLY WIN ON THE PATRIOTS Mahomes - no ELITE QB Carr - no CARR ISN'T THAT GREAT Herbert - n/a TBD Lock - no LOCK ISN'T THAT GREAT Jones - no PROBABLY ABOUT EQUALLY GOOD Wentz - no HEALTHY WENTZ IS VERY GOOD Dak - no VERY GOOD QB Haskins - YES TBD Rodgers - no ELITE QB Cousin - no I WONDER HOW COUSINS WOULD'VE DONE HERE Trubisky - EVEN YEAH PROBABLY ABOUT EVEN Stafford - no STAFFORD IS BETTER Brady - no ASSUMING HE HAS ENOUGH LEFT Brees - no HAS ARGUABLY AGED BETTER THAN BRADY Bridgewater - no LOL MAYBE WE SHOULD'VE KEPT HIM Ryan - no RYAN IS BETTER Murray - no MURRAY IS PROBABLY BETTER Goff - no I'LL BET DARNOLD WOULD PUT UP GOFF'S NUMBERS IN LA Wilson - no ELITE QB Jimmy g - No CURIOUS HOW WELL DARNOLD WOULD DO IN SF CONCLUSION: OP = TROLL
If Lawrence plays up to expectations this year, and we can take him at #1 overall, it would be the dumbest move in franchise history not to take him.
If we’re in position to take Lawrence or Fields (and don’t sleep on Trey Lance who is a beast), then that means that Darnold probably played badly...I would have no problem moving on if we don’t see big improvements this year He has the talent and ability but at some point you have to put it all together consistently. Sick of the excuses...we know the situation isn’t great but he can play much better than he showed today
That is a really good way to say it. We can understand Sam struggling or the Jets losing games due to lack of talent, etc but when you see the mistakes Sam made today, it is worrisome. I think he can correct it though and hope he does.
While I'm down with the sentiment, I still have yet to work out why drafting another WR, presumably in rounds 3/4, would make this roster and team significantly better? They might have done in the future, but not this year. The Jets need to address the skill positions for sure but taking Becton & Mimms was the right move imo. On that basis I couldn't see any other WR being anything other than a developmental move, as with most players taken in those rounds.
Im not trolling. Sam Darnold has not played better then Garnder Minchew, thats facts. and you keep changing Sam in different situations. Im talking about RIGHT NOW in this situation. You also wrote " ISNT THAT GREAT" but they have been better then Sam - stats do not lie
If Sam makes little to no progress this year, and we're in position to take a top QB prospect next year, it'll be time to move on. Let's see how the rest of the season plays out. If yesterday's game is a sign of things to come....
