    Damn. I’ve been through quite a few hurricanes. Can’t imagine a 4 though. Prayers to that area.

    I saw the surge could reach 30 miles.

    Coastal Topography of much of the Gulf is so flat, and it's magnified by being a big bathtub.

    Hopefully goes through an eyewall replacement cycle rt before landfall, to pump the brakes a bit

    Looks like the storm surge wasn't nearly as bad as predicted. I saw 9 feet was the max. Some pictures coming in from in and around Lake Charles are starting to some in.

    I know McNeese State's stadium got damaged and one of the residence halls. That whole area is really low even pretty far inland. Waiting to hear about some people in Lake Charles to see how they made out.

    11am, heat index 107 and rising here in Myrtle beach.

    This heat and humidity here is insane. 90 degrees is typical this time of year, but I’m getting calls left and right for beach front properties that are full of mold. Ac units aren’t keeping up(some are faulty), but there are problems in so many units and we can’t figure out the cause.
