    Okay final points...
    1. Jenkins only signed a 1 year deal, is he gonna sign long term and he is our best pass rusher.
    2. Hopefully I am the first to say it, when was the last time we drafted anyone worth a damn in the 2nd round

This feels like one of those threads that will hit 37 pages before he signs with the Raiders.

I still have a broken F5 key from the Asomugha saga.

To be fair in that scenario you are likely giving an early 2nd for a pick after the third round so possibly one in the 30’s or 40’s for one around 100.

I'd love a dominant pass rusher now but I also know how hard those guys are to come by. MAYBE JD does roll the dice and bring him in. If JD believed in Jenkins he woulda re-upped him to more than just one year. That other kid we just drafted is nothing more than a huge ?.

To become a long-term dominant team sometimes the GM has to go for it and keep is fingers crossed. That's what Seattle just did with Jamal, and Seattle didn't just trade a conditional 2nd round pick.

I put this somewhere else I think but:

I'd comfortably throw Jacksonville a 3rd rounder this year, and a 2nd or 3rd rounder next year contingent on him signing a long term contract.

That would allow the Jets to use their 1st rounders on WR and OL. I'm thinking Jamar Chase and Alex Leatherwood (or an equivalent OL) And then use their 2nd and 3rd rounders on RB and CB. That would go a really long way in rebuilding the entire offense.

I would sign up for that in a heartbeat.

Okay, I will give you that one. He is probably the only in the last decade?

What do you think is fair compensation for getting a player of Yannick's stature including an extension?

In my view, a 3rd that becomes a 2nd if he resigns

Trying to trade for Yannick night now screams Tannenbaum GM move, not Douglas GM move.

Actually I misread your post and I thought you said a 2nd and 3rd next year, not or, so my bad there. Not way too much.

Even so, what I would look to do is trade a 4th this year and 7th next year. Those would become a 3rd this year and a 5th next year if he signs a new contract with the Jets before the beginning of the 2021 league year.

Well if they do trade for him, my fingers are crossed that you're right lol. A move like that paying off, would be huge with all the Jets current capital.

Now is not the time to trade for Yannick Ngakoue, as the team is trash and nowhere near contending.

Gone to the vikings for a 5th that becomes a 4th if he makes the probowl or a 3rd if he makes probowl and vikings win the SB.

    Edit: it's a 2nd and conditional 5th
