Just spoke with a friend who’s spouse works at Atlantic Health. It seems the Jets are requiring all employees to arrive 30 minutes early, on a daily basis, to take COVID tests (swab AND blood) before entering the facility. Additionally, the employees are required to wear proximity bracelets which emit beeps if they come too close to another person wearing the bracelet. Standard thermometer screening, mask wearing, etc... also apply. Good to know the Jets are sparing no expense keeping the staff and players safe. Thought some of you would be interested to know.
Wait, so those proximity bracelets actually work? I remember they were testing them with Vernon Gholston and opposing QB's, and there was a problem.
I'm worried these sports leagues are setting a precedent. ALL jobs will do the same in the near future. I can feel it coming. If young, professional athletes in peak physical condition test positive for it what hope do regular Joes & Janes of all different ages have? I'm getting a sick feeling it's all preparation for the incoming mark of the beast.
thats great, sounds like they are doing what they can to protect people, that has to cost them alot of money to do on a daily basis and i applaud them for doing it.
It's already happening bud. My college roommate works for a military contracting company -- they are requiring testing for in office employees. It's only a matter of time before corporate America does as well. Though, my company told us we are not going back until there's a vaccine available.
I just couldn't fathom why any logical human wouldn't WANT this to be done in corporate America until there's a vaccine available. I'm in CT, we're in really good shape all things considered, and we aren't getting back into the office until at least January 2021 (kill me now). It makes all the sense in the world for an employer to take the most strict of safety measures until there's a way to semi-prevent yourself from getting the virus. The Jets are doing the smart thing here it seems.
I don't get the confidence in the vaccine. There has not been a vaccine for SARS, same virus strain. There is no vaccine for common cold same virus strain, and we get flu shots every year and people die of the flu every year. Just curious what it is about this virus that everyone seems to think the vaccine is the answer. I get the litigation concern for companies, not sure I agree if they are following the jurisdictional requirements why they would be at fault though. Just curious, honest question.
Vaccines aren't a panacea. Some people, for whatever reason, are always going to get sick. Vaccines are a firewall that limits transmission vectors. The theory goes...We have a flu shot that's reasonably effective based on data from the previous years migratory birds from Asia. Since it's a much narrower scope than the flu most believe we should be able to develop a "corona shot". No one is expecting perfect but if you can get transmission below a 1.0 ratio you can eventually wipe it out or at least get it under control.
That's good to know. In that case shut down the planet. That's what's gonna happen. If it's forced upon us without it can't work or buy things and those of us that decline to take it are taken away to concentration camps to isolate us from the general population. I can envision it turning into a more dangerous situation for us. People seen doing normal things nowadays not wearing a mask, socializing with family & friends are singled out as the culprits for these coronavirus 'outbreaks' when it comes to a forced vaccine they could make people that decline to take it look almost as terroritst threats. Scary times we're living in.
