We’ll get a WR next year. The first round will have as many, if not more, than this year. There won’t be many available in Rounds 2+
I'm more partial to Jaylen Waddle but yeah any of the three for sure. There's a couple Big Ten guys ranked higher than all of them too that I haven't got a chance to watch yet.
I believe the deadline to sign Ngakoue to a long term deal has passed. Might as well wait until next year and then pay him as a FA without losing any draft capital. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
The main problem I am seeing (from anyone who is upset with the move) is they think the Jets traded away this All Pro player. This team leader. This class act, face of the franchise. That wasn't Jamal Adams though. He was a great player who completely checked out and was a distraction to the team. A Me-First guy who could care less about the Jets. Literally the opposite of a Joe Douglas guy. And on top of that: He wanted a HUGE contract extension for a non-premium position. So the Jets traded THAT GUY to Seattle for two 1st Round Picks, a 3rd Round Pick and Bradley McDougald. Remarkable. They didn't trade this perfect, All-Pro, Safety to the Seahawks. They traded THAT GUY.
Finally the saga ends. Great haul for the Jets, Adam's gets to play for one of his chosen teams . Why do I get the feeling this will still be a hot topic months from now?
This was actually an insanely good trade. McDougald is a good starting safety. He's not elite, but no one has won a Super Bowl because of a strong safety. They aren't a QB/RB/WR/Pass Rusher. Plus we actually got 2 first rounders and swapped a 4th rounder for a 3rd? Good luck to Adams in his seasons not winning shit and not getting paid after this year. Cowboys should be hit with tampering after all this.
I have never cared less about one of my teams losing a "superstar" player....the Jets are winning the same amount of games they were yesterday with a better chance of building a winner in the future.
I hope you’re right. The one issue I have is that usually these “situations” are probably avoidable to begin with. So I just can’t bring myself to be happy with the saga ending. You’re right, of course. It was a distraction, for sure. And now the team can move forward with a collective “clear head”. I just feel it was all avoidable.
This is a big haul to be sure. But the more I think about it, the better it is. All teams knew Adams had to be traded & wants $5M/yr more than the highest paid safety. That should have depressed the compensation a lot. But the other thing is that covid should result in decreased caps. Not paying Adams & getting cheap draft talent will be very helpful in an environment of tight caps. Also the next draft will be a lot more of a crapshoot due to limited film for draftees without a college season. So, I would think that low 1st rounders could be more valuable than usual next year. Could get a top talent at the end of the 1st round. Overall, great deal.
So far JD is the best GM this team has seen since the Tuna. He learned under Ozzie Newsome who is one of the best. Let’s see how this year’s draft class works out. Hopefully we do have a season.
