Longtime trainer John Mellody out?

    Apologies if this news was posted somewhere, I didn't see it, but I was reading an article in The Athletic and it mentioned the crazy amount of injuries last season, and said:

    Hate to celebrate a firing, but honestly this is encouraging news! I feel like the Jets always have more than average amount of injuries... and then there was the Osemele fiasco....

    It wasn't all that long ago when the Jets were one of the teams with the fewest injuries, and I'm pretty sure that Mellody was the trainer then. I saw several days ago that he had been fired or forced to retire, but is still working as consultant for the team.

    Yeah. Jets have historically been pretty good injury-wise from memory. At least no worse than average. But maybe I’m wrong.

    Scapegoat for the Osemele and Faulk injuries being mishandled. As well as the mishandling of injured players who returned too soon.

    I agree that management was to blame for those, more than any medical staff.

    The Mosley injury was the biggest head scratcher for me.

    it absolutely can. i dont know anything about the guy or how he did his job so i am not going to stick up for him.
