This is such an easy eye test. It's so weird to me that some people can't see Darnold basically acing this test even with below-average receivers.
I don’t understand where you are going with this. Mahomes, an extraordinary talent, took them to the playoff one year and the SB the next. If Sam does the same for us, fuck yes he deserves the half billion. The answer will be somewhere in the middle, as there is no one, period, in Mahomes league.
I only brought it up because I just saw the thread where BMs are knocking the trade saying they would never have done it.
So far, the Jets have done a nice job setting themselves up to negotiate a deal with Sam. Surrounding him with a weak o-line, lack of weapons, and basically setting him up to fail, will definitely help in the negotiating room. This is sarcastic, of course, yet somewhat true. Hopefully Darnold will succeed in 2020 and then put himself in a great negotiating spot with a really strong 2021. Literally hundreds of millions of dollars are on the line for him these next two seasons.
For Sam to lead the Jets to a SB victory, he would have to be better then Mahomes due to the talent level on the Jets. rite now it isn't fair to compare Sam & Mahomes. KC has much more tallent & a better CS than the Jets. I would like to see the 2 QB's stats if the tables were turned.
Would U say better drafting by KC then us? I think the owners flunked in there test to get a good GM Drafting is key to getting players with ability I do not remember but one of the recent time our entire draft class flunked out
Mahomes is much more talented than Darnold . Turn the tables and Mahomes still out performs him. Not a Super Bowl MVP'but still considerably better.
I would feel a little bit better if it wasn't against teams that were essentially low-level talent bottom feeders, but I'll still take it. Speaking of which, the real test is that when the Jets become competitive are they still gonna Jet in a critical situation and blow pineapple chunks against someone they should absolutely demolish. Jesus H, can they please just beat somebody they're "supposed to beat" with at least half-assed consistency? Thanks in advance.
It's not though. This offense played a lot of good defenses last year. Some mixed results but he was running for his life the majority of the time. Yeah this is really true^. He's had David Carr level support, especially last year, and he's produced OK.
20% max cap to a top tier ‘every year playoff contender’ qb . 40% to 4-5 core vets/fa 40% on first deals and scrubs you still have to draft and sign the right guys to build around the qb. mahomes so young you pay up to ensure a decade. 25% = 50 ish
to answer the OP , no. sam would have to lift the team on his shoulders (and it would have to be pretty clear it was him and not a great D or game management) and win a SB to get maybe 40. thats 20%. looks like he will never be mahomes. he could maybe be rodgers or roth or eli and the clock is ticking.
I think the Chiefs will regret paying Mahomes so much $.. but I've been wrong before Darnold ?? How bout we just get to a winning season ..puhleese
It's way way way waaaaaaaaaay too early for that. I'm seeing dynasty talk, Mahommes GOAT talk the Chiefs & Mahommes have many light years to go before they even begin to approach the type of run the Pats have had for close to two decades now. There may never be another run like that in any sport. As good as Mahommes is I don't view the Chiefs as that type of roadblock.
