I wonder what Adams' reaction will be.

Blame his Pop Warner coach for not letting him play QB?

No excuse not to pay Adams now.

He's a top 10 NFL player, came out the same year as Mahommes.

    Beggars can't be choosers.

He's the best player we got and he's one of the best in the NFL.

Trading away a known for another chance to play another round or two of NFL Draft roulette doesn't seem very bright.

    Pay him.

Contract includes $477mn in “guarantee mechanisms".

It will be interesting to see what those are - contracts aren't always as lucrative as they initially seem.

And there goes KC's hopes of ever winning a Super Bowl. They'll never be able to afford a good team around him.

Yeah they have another 1-2 year window to cash in on this contract before it becomes an issue and he's going to have to play like Russell Wilson every week to keep them in games before they retool.

The Chiefs and Reid got their Super Bowl already though so for them I'm sure it kind of feels like house money.

If they build the right way they can somewhat maintain it. Keep replenishing solid mid-round offensive lineman, fast late round receivers and try to retool the defensive with their blue chip picks. Sort of the Steelers philosophy around Roethlisberger the past two decades but his contract as nowhere near this one obviously.

It's tough. You need a good QB to win a Super Bowl, but you need a good team around him. Teams that have given out massive contracts to QBs have not won anything. Patriots always win because players are on team friendly contracts. Anyone not willing to take one are traded. Mahomes will be consuming over 20% of the team's salary cap. Peyton Manning was probably the highest paid Super Bowl winning QB.

At some point, you are sabotaging the rest of the team.

In the box, if you locked him in a bank safe to shut him up you could probably still hear him talking from down the hallway.

    lmao!!

This guy is a fuckin' joke.

It is still so crazy to me how quickly he has made me hate everything about him. I have two Adams jerseys in my closet right now that I legit will not put back on. How a guy has gone from a fan favorite to a despised immature asshat this quickly, is truly remarkable.
