Faster, as good tackler, as good in coverage, team player not a me me guy. Not a showboat, just does his job. Total opposite personality from Jamal. Way to read the tea leaves, JD saw the Adams bs comming & drafted his replacement.
Projecting Davis as the next Adams is like projecting Bryce Petty, Chris Simms, Greg McElroy, etc. as franchise quarterbacks. He was a third round pick for a reason.
See ya, Jamul Adums! I kid, I kid! "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the biggest typoist of them all?" "I would say jeto, but is typoist a word?" "Fckn bitch!" Oh, wait, that was the genie guy. Whatever.
Why is this an answer how many third rounders can we say have been great just from recent times, quite a lot imo. A host of WR's and I don't want to mention the unmentionable and his lowly draft round. I agree that announcing him as a successor is way too early but yours is the polar opposite lol
Hey ..maybe he's the next John Lynch ..good pick by JD TBH A Rookie is no All Pro...so let's see if Jamal caves when he doesn't get what he wants
I just have a bit of a problem yelling, "Go Ashtyn!" Why do people thinking giving their kids an annoying "different" spelling on a name makes it "different" and not annoying? My dog's name is Henry, not Henrie or Henri (he's not French). It's Henry, goddamn it, just Henry (shakes fist at sky)!
Marcus Maye just went from being on the bubble with Davis coming in to being our #1 Safety and getting PAID!!! Maye is PRAYING Jamal whines his way off the team.
Maye really doesn’t have much leverage for a long term deal mostly because of his age. He maybe able to get a 3 year deal but no one is really going to pay him longer then that as he’s close to his 30’s
If we took Adams's replacement in the first round, then I'd say there's a higher likelihood that he can be the next Adams. I'd also say the GM is a moron for taking a safety in the first round when we have more important needs, but hey that's life as a Jets fan.
I understand Maye is older than Jamal but Maye was a 2nd round pick who came in on the same draft as Jamal (27 is not really 'close to 30'). Marcus is looking for his big 2nd contract all players dream of. No, he won't get Jamal money, but he IS a top FS in the NFL and could easily get $8-$10/yr on his 2nd deal. When we drafted Davis we assumed Marcus was out, but now Marcus could become our #1 and get his 2nd payday right here.
What I meant is by the time you pay Maye, he will be 28-29...and it’s unlikely he will get anything more then a 3 year deal at that point. As opposed to Adams, he’s likely getting 5-6 years.
