I'm 44. And I do expect to see them in at least one Super Bowl, hopefully more. And for evidence I would put out that when I was 10 or 12 the LA Clippers were perhaps the biggest laughingstock of any professional franchise and would win like 10 games a year, I'd read how ownership was a mess, they'd never see success in anyone's lifetime etc. And over time even THEY managed to have a good run and win stuff. So if they can do it the Jets, who are nowhere near that level of nominal hopelessness, can certainly go on a good run of prosperity. Darnold might even be the main ingredient necessary to bring about such prosperity so you even have that critical component in place and getting stronger right this second, let alone 30 years from now.
I try not to think of such things. I'm soon to be 65 and I'm happy with having seen ONE Jets SB in my lifetime. Will I live another 50 years? Probably not and honestly, who would want to be 115yo anyway. My answer is a honest, heartfelt NO. We'll come close, but we'll come up short. Why? Because we're the Jets and it in our DNA.
I am 60 I remember watching the Super Bowl lll with my dad because he loved the guy with the white shoes thats how i became a jet fan ,my dad was also a knick fan And they went on to win the 1970 championship.. And of course the 69 mets Although I was a Yankee fan ..during those years I thought we were going to see championships every year in NY ,lol boy did I learn... Back to our jets I think we have our best chance These next few yrs because of Sam Darnold and Joe Douglas I haven’t felt this good about a GM since Parcells was here ... I’ve given up on the Knicks Which really saddens me because when I lived in New York I was a Season-ticket holder I hold out hope Joe Douglas will bring us to the promised land
I am 44 with diabetes for the past 41 years and dont know. i think the current owner is a buffoon who still doesnt understand what a front office hierarchy is and once hes done working for trump will come back and things will get worse again. i think the team finally may have found a gm that isnt a turd but they still have a head coach who is a turd.. we may never see it brook. but im not willing to go full joe benigno on the subject yet.
Nope not in my lifetime because the Johnson own the team Oh yes Brook I have diabetes for many years type 2 & I am still here
Brook my son is 49 N says the NYJs will never win a SB in his lifetime he is has being saying that since he was in his 20s
You guys got it wrong. When God was handing out bad football teams we'd root for during our time on Earth, thank your lucky stars you didn't get handed the Detroit Lions. They have one playoff win in 60+ years! Go Jets! ( and buy a Toyota)
I always wondered why Monday Night Football had so many erectile dysfunction ads for old fucks. The posters in this thread must account for half of all worldwide sales of Werther's Originals.
Winning a ring would be great but the 'feel good' fades pretty quick. If we don't repeat the following year, the 'feel good' is gone. Personally I've shifted some of my desire to win a ring with a desire to field a highly respected team that wins a lot of games every season. Not sure if I'd be happy with a one and done team. I think I'd rather have a team like the Steelers that's good every year and take it from there.
I totally disagree with your post. My feel good feeling lasted until the loss against KC in that PO Game in 69
Cause unlike you, I try to find a brighter side.....even if it's the expense of another franchises worse misery than ours
See you are the dark side of the dark side for bringing up that because the lions are losers it is OK for us to also be losers.
Were U return after the NYJs would SB3 If not then how would U have any idea of the lastin feel good ffeeling after winning a SB?
