I wonder if Sam is starting to wish he was drafted by the Browns...

Everybody is hugging on Joe D’s nuts, and I gotta admit, he’s made some pretty good moves this offseason

On the whole, I’m impressed with the patience and savvy he has shown, not trying to land any prize free agents who are typically way overpriced, trading down in the draft to land additional picks, and not selecting another interior DL in the 1st round

Joe D has displayed a feel for the game that we never saw with Tannenbaum and Maccagnan, probably because Joe D actually played the game

He clearly has a deeper understanding of how to build a team than Tann and Mac

That being said, I remain very concerned about Sam’s development

He is entering his 3rd season and it’s really sad that both Mark Sanchez and Harvard Hobo Fitzgerald had far better weapons at receiver during their first few years as the Jets QB

We don’t even have a Rob Moore level WR on this team...

If the Jets really suck this season due to an anemic passing game and Douglas doesn’t add a top 3 WR in next year’s draft or make a play for a legit top tier WR who still has 5-6 good years left heading into what will be Sam’s 4th season, the passing offense is going to suck yet again and I want him and Gase gone before the 2022 draft

The Jets can’t afford to ruin a QB as promising as Sam, who has the potential to become a top 7 QB in the NFL if surrounded by even 50th percentile WR talent (top 1/2 of the league)

    1. The only way to ruin a QB with Sam's potential is to leave him behind a sham oline to take a beating Carr style.

    2. We're a team on the rise. It takes time. The steps that Joe D have taken were the right ones. It may not all work out - but on paper I am on board with just about everything he's done.

    3. Short-term hindsight is very misleading. As long as Sam stays healthy more often than not - we'll all be looking back 10 years from now marking the JD era as a turning point.

This guy's gimmick is real old. I'd rather have the real DWC back instead of the shitty store brand DWC.

Sam should be on the Browns?

Nothing like a Memorial Day Weekend Troll Thread to spike things up

A bad WR core can make any OL look shitty

An OL can only block a pass rush for a few seconds

WRs who cannot reliably get open place too much stress on the OL and the QB

OL and WRs are two separate positions that make up one larger unit

That’s the entire point of the IPP metric

I hope Douglas understands this key tenet

Because the Jets have failed miserably for the past 2 decades at surrounding their QBs with young, talented receivers who can run crisp routes and achieve good separation on a regular basis

We'll see. Sam has done an ok job turning chicken shit into chicken salad.

Our WR group should be as good as if not better than last season. Plus an improved running game. Plus improved pass blocking.

Rome wasn't built in a day.

You all are clueless. Don't you dare tell me to pump my brakes. I'm living the life. I called it.

BTW, it ain't Fuchs. I mean, Phillystaxx. It's too restrained, and the grammar hasn't resorted to shitty white guy poser rap speak yet. If JerryJeudy ever says believe me you his cover is blown, but he won't, because it isn't him. It's a pretty impressive troll job, though.

I’m not any of these people but it sure is entertaining to watch the inaccurate accusations fly

I am exactly who I’ve said I am

And the Jets and Douglas will regret not taking Jerry Jeudy

Mims is a nice red zone threat, but the fact that he led the nation in contested catches tells you all you need to know about his ability to separate and his IPP rating

They are both dogshit, which will only add to the stress on the OL and Darnold

Jeudy would have lifted both the OL play and Darnold

    IPP metric is real

If Douglas was trying to provide the most help for Darnold and was going to take an OL in Round 1, he should have selected a WR with a high IPP rating in Round 2

Bottom line is that teams like the Pats have a deep understanding of this premise, and despite the fact that the Jets play them twice every year, they still haven’t figured it out

I just said it wasn't who others were saying it was, because it isn't. Keep going, though.

    Are you an idiot?

Taking my quote out of context...

I was explaining why I read the board for 10 years before I signed up

The entire point in me signing up was to post about how pathetic the Jets are at drafting WRs

They continue to ignore the fact that the NFL has changed tremendously over the past 10-15 years and is now a league predicated on protecting the QB with shifty receivers who run crisp routes and can gain separation quickly and reliably

Douglas made the same mistake previous GMs have made when he didn’t pick Jeudy this year, who is going to wind up in the Hall of Fame

He is literally the perfect receiver for today’s NFL

The problem with the Jets fan base is they are so used to watching crappy receivers that they have lost the ability to identify the rare gamechangers at the position

Becton may turn out to be a good pro, but Jeudy is a lock to be amazing

JD's first year as GM he drafted ZERO players

JD's second year his vision is on paper and we have not only a brand new O line but at least a chance on a WR in the second round.

It may take a couple years to see this work out or not. And I hope Gase is on the chopping block before JD

This guy's schtick would actually be entertaining if it was funny or thoughtful on any level.

So Sam wishes he was drafted to the worst franchise in the NFL, in a shit hole of a city, who just finished 6-10 in a year they had super bowl hype, fired their first year head coach that was hand picked by their QB (who would've been Sam btw), that has the second biggest diva WR in the league, whose roster imploded culminating with an assault on another teams QB on national TV - all because the Jets passed up the second WR in this year's draft ( a guy whose teammate was drafted before him)?

Yea I think you nailed it son. Good work.
