This is what I picture everyone who doesn’t like the black unis to look like.

i never looked at those old unis as classics that people would talk about or that stood the test of time like the steelers or raiders. even theirs changed a little but they have been the same for so long i think it would be insane to change them now. i dont look at the jets like they are alabma or penn state or notre dame in college football. theyre just a team that has had some uniforms over the past 60 years and most were ok but none really stood out as an all time uniform.

thats just my opinion though, and id much rather the 80s unis than the parcells unis at this point. although i liked the throwbacks in 98 i was ready to go back by early 2000s.

Those chest stripes are the worst part. They completely ruin the uniform for me.

worst part for me too. if they took the chest stripes off i would have no real problem with the current unis. it looks like a pop warner uniform with those chest and pant stripes.

to be fair i STILL hate the stripe on the denver broncos uniforms. just put a stripe down the leg damnit.

I was there at the Coliseum with the biggest crowd you can imagine. Best time of my life but one hell of a rough crowd. Walker touchdown down the left side was a thing of beauty. Bring back those days.

Not to nitpick but that bomb to Walker set up the winning TD - he was tackled on the one yard line. It was Dierking who went over for the TD.

My bad...you are right. I always liked Walker, to me he was such a great part of our offense. Someone we could totally identify as a Jet thru and thru. If my memory serves me right he is a local kid and went to high school here in LA.
God, I do miss not having those type of household WRs that best defined the Jets identity, players we all gather around on Sunday and root hard for. Hope JD brings back to us a team with identity and high hopes.

Love love the new uniforms. We have 3 uniforms so get over it. This is it for the next 10 years. White is so damm sharp. Helmets are a 10. Just fantastic. 80s sucked. Fuck Coslet.

I think Wesley’s the AD at some high school on LI.

Blind in one eye. Why he isn’t universally considered a heroic sports figure just mystifies me.

I think it is. You may want to check out some other games that are on utube for Wesley Walker highlights. A lot of games from 1981-82 are uploaded in there. Both Miami games from 1981 and the Giants game that year. In the Giants game Sometimes I skip over to the Walker touchdown right before the half just to hear Marv Albert’s call. I miss those days...

He had a Namath picture on his wall, is this a hint at who's hes bringing in to be our new starting QB?

He wore white shoes throughout the draft, too.

Despite the league changing the rules to favor offense there still is barely a hint of anyone in the last 20 years or so in the top 50 list of career yds / reception. The Jets had a great run with Caster then Walker in yds / reception. I miss those days, this dink and dunk crap in today's game is boring.
