Per everyone on Twitter. Why. I mean it's never bad to have a veteran presence but we aren't going anywhere this year... let Bell and Perine be the guys.
Also, what's with AFC east guys making the rounds? Fitz and Gore have played for all three of Buffalo, Miami and us. Has any other division had one player play for 75% of the teams in it?
Well, at least that saves him plundering 20 yards on 3rd and long v the Jets as he is wearing green/white.
Has another division been as desperately in the shade of one rival that the other three just merge into one entity?
Could he be being brought in to show Perine the ropes on how to be a power back, as opposed to Bell's style of running?
Absolutely don't mind him being around the team, my fear is that we're going to give the ball to a 37-year-old on a one year deal and let him run straight up the middle every time instead of letting the star RB or the versatile rookie we just drafted try and develop something.
But Bilal is/was "getting old" or "too old" Makes little sense, TBH. Just another thing for our idiot clown head coach to not use Bell.
Weird signing. Hopefully he doesn't see the field too much other than in obvious running situations. I'd rather see Perine get used to the NFL than Gore stealing carries.
Gore is a testament to durability. Everyone above and below him on the NFL rushing yards list is a more talented back but he just keeps rumbling on. I thought I'd be screaming at the TV the day he overhauls Walter Payton but, if he does that, he's had an outstanding season for the Jets. No doubt he tears his ACL in pre-season Week 2.
I will go on record saying that I hate this move. Guy has always been overrated and has racked up yards solely due to longevity and durability. Makes absolutely no sense.
Maybe just to be a locker room guy and occasionally play. I don't see him on the field more than 10 snaps a game. He's still a good blocker.
I'd say Cannon is history. We know who 3 of our backs will be now. Bell, Gore, Perrine, and one more. A few may go on PS. Maybe some of both the vets will rub off on Perrine. He can learn life lessons from Gore and not hold out. Not to mention how to make his own holes when there is nothing.
Odd signing, but he is a future HoF player that both Bell and Perine can learn from. Situationally, he’s gonna he that 3rd and 2 or less guy. I swear I’ve never seen Frank Gore lose yards.
