Hard to argue with any of that--nice post. If I had my choice, though, I would not bring back OG Winters, especially at $8M, and I would not bring back K Ficken--Not consistent at all last year.
Winters is a guy I want to keep on the line while his contract runs out. He is a bit overpaid but when healthy he’s not too bad. He could also garner a future compensatory pick, but won’t if we cut him.
Probably no one. He’s not going to be ready for full practice at all this summer. We’ll probably only carry 2 and he might start the season inactive. Mike White seems like the logical choice if the are going to cut someone but Fales is horrendous and I’d rather see what White can do.
He might. I think it would make the most sense if he's not cleared for full contact practice. I'm honestly not sure how the whole PUP/week to week eligibility thing works in terms of what you can do while you're on the PUP, when you can be activated, whether or not it counts as a roster spot, etc.
I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure you can come off PUP any time and be activated a week later... but if you’re still on PUP at week 6 of the regular season, you have to go to IR.
That's what I thought. I guess it comes down to how much he can get cleared to do come August and how much he can do off to the side while on the PUP.
Looking forward to seeing this team take the field. We have some holes but seeing our revamped OL and our healthy ILBs should be a treat if our front office did this right. If our draft picks pan out this could be interesting.
Given the injury filled shit show we had last year it would be nice to see this team take a step forward. Now that the draft is behind us and we know Gase isn't going anywhere there is nothing else to bitch about until we see them take the field. With the sports void and the shut in nonsense I will just cross my fingers for now.
I’m exited to see football in general. I’m the most tuned in league wide that I have been in a few years, so I’m just ready to see live ball. I am also particularly excited to see some of these new draft picks in action.
Updated for player numbers. Numbers aren't out for: -Frank Gore, RB -Bryce Hall, CB -Shyheim Carter, S -Javelin Guidry, CB -Jehu Chesson, WR -Brad Lundblade, C
It looks like a roster that improved over last year. Yes there are still weak spots. Wr, edge, and cb for sure, kicker also doesn't look better. But OL and in contrast QB should be better. WR maybe improved, we will have to see, but I still could it a weak spot. Punter is better. CB should be better, but still not great. The goal is improvement, which I think we did. Hopefully we can finish it off and be a playoff caliber team soon.
No, no, people will find plenty to bitch about, are you crazy, haha. If you're not bitching then what kind of a Jets fan are you? I'm not a fatalist but I certainly am a realist with a healthy dose of seasoned sarcasm thrown in. However, some people are so negative that they're never happy about ANYTHING. As in ever. This isn't in any way directed at you, it's just a general observation. Oh, before I forget . . .
