Oh, no, that really sucks. He was actually more of a stage actor than a film actor, but he was great at both. I saw a special years back of when he was on Broadway in 'Death of a Salesman' and I was blown away. Famous story about that, during that same run someone in the audience made the mistake of not only talking at a critical moment, but practically having a conversation. He was so mad. He had to break character and managed to calmly and professionally advise the audience that if it happened again he was walking off and no-one was getting refunded. It was great. It's probably out there somewhere. Patti Lupone has done that, too. Also, who can ever forget his made for TV portrayal of John Wayne Gacy? The power of that performance was that he didn't really bear any likeness. When he started falling apart at the seams when the cops were leaning on him and he was drugging all the time and not sleeping, it was so beyond believable I forgot he was acting. He also did a brilliant turn on 'Law & Order: SVU' some years ago. RIP to a powerhouse in American theatre.
you can get a good look at a t-bone by sticking your head up a bull's ass but wouldn't you rather take the butcher's word for it?
He was a great actor, I remember seeing him in Rambo and how he came across as the small town bully Sherrif. His portrayal of John Wayne Gacy was awesome as @jetophile mentioned. Lost a good one in BD.
Saw Gorky Park again last night. Another classic Dennehy supporting role. Still a great movie and I totally forgot how hot Joanna Pacula was.
