He wasn't the RB I wanted, but the more I read about him, the more I like the pick.

Cross posted from the draft thread, but this is one of the most beautiful/perfect college football videos I've seen in years. Make sure to watch with sound.

    The swamp!!

Was always fun watching games there. Although I never got to see an FSU game there because they were always during Thanksgiving break.

Doak and the Swamp were a ton of fun for college football. The loudest game I ever went to at Florida State was against Miami the year we won a national title with Winston. 90k+ fans. You could feel the stadium shaking

He's just like Powell IMO. I expect that we'll be ready to take another RB in the first three rounds next year and have a thunder and lightning attack to it when we cut Bell.

Man, when the crowd pops at the broken tackle, hard to keep my heart in my chest. Thanks for sharing.

I like this pick. I didn’t think it would be this early but he seemed like a great fit next to Bell in this offense which favors downhill runners. He’s that and more. Hopefully dopey realizes that the two of them on the field together could cause massive mismatches elsewhere.

That's the run. Perine was born in Alabama, grew up an Auburn fan and dreamed of going to Auburn. They didn't recruit him at all or want him there because he was 'too slow.' Then he ripped that run off his senior year.

I completely forgot that Powell is a FA. This guy slides nicely into Powell's spot in the rotation. Still would like someone other than Trent Cannon for depth / change of pace. I'm sure JD will find an UDFA to fill out the RB roster.

I don't know much about him, he only had a few carries for the Jets last year. College stats don't look bad though.

Had some good games with philly. Jets were sure to protect him from getting poached off the practice squad. If I was a betting man, and most know I am, I would bet canon is a goner.

Don't sleep on Jalin Moore, either. He never got a chance to show what he could do last year. Was on PUP then IR I think. He's a good player with power.

Also just sad thinking that Powell has given so much and has been such great Jet for so long. One winning season, never set foot in the playoffs

Agree regarding something other than Cannon for depth. Cannon can run freakishly fast but just doesn't have the instincts of a back. Doesn't have good vision, no strength/power to his running, goes down at first contact.

What I like about Perine is that yea maybe he doesn't have great speed or fancy moves, but he is patient, finds the holes, posses strength and toughness (about 220lbs). When the football is in his hands he knows what lanes to take and what cuts/angles he has to make and where to get the most possible yards out of every run. Nothing fancy, nothing wasted, just intelligent and efficient running start to finish
