He doesn't have to tank. He's already got a losing career record after about 7 seasons of coaching without Tom Brady and has never once even so much as sniffed an AFC Championship Game; let alone a SB throughout almost 10 season(s) of coaching without #12 Tom Brady. He doesn't have to tank to lose without Brady - all he's gotta do is be himself... (as you can't teach an old 70 year old dog new tricks).
This is some crazy shit. The Patriots could be in trouble as they may not have an even serviceable QB, however BB is the best coach in the league. He’s refined his craft over the years and has a formula that is proven to work. They routinely have one of the best offensive lines and were the #1 rated defense (by a lot) last year. With or without Brady in the lineup, their record has been good. No coach is better at exploiting mismatches on both sides of the ball. No team executes all phases of the game as well. Brady is on the downside of his career and wasn’t even asked to do that much. You act like he is the same guy as the Moss days... A young Brady wins a SB last year. Sam Darnold in that offense (protected) and with that defense giving up just 14 points / game would have had the same or better record. Brady is an all time great and was a big reason for the Pats success... but BB is like Bill Parcells... good coaches find ways to win games.
