Trading back 11 slots for an extra top 100 or so pick is not bad at all. With a deep draft, trading up or trading down works depending on team needs. And the Jets need a lot.

    I’d still like Epenesa.

Something tells me this trade down was to justify taking Van Jefferson tho..
Which may not be a bad thing I’d just rather get in 3rd.

Maybe Russell Wilson was included and it just hasn’t been announced yet. He’s the only name that could be involved in this trade that would make me have an opinion of it.

The thing that I saw is that he sometimes has a lack of effort, competitive fire, which makes me wonder if he loves the game and will work hard. That's why I wanted Pittman, Higgins or Claypool.

No WR/ RB/Te on the board worthy of that high left.
Smart to trade back if wanting to bolster offense.

Air raid Big-12 WRs are a dime a dozen.

Neither are fast and both are limited. Jefferson may be able to contribute this season, but Edwards may not. I like him, but not as our top WR pick, but rather as the second.

    Per NFL.com

    Weaknesses (Mims)
    • Lacks release quickness to slide past press jam
    • Early push upfield is dull and lacks urgency
    • Slow gather and break from a normal stride
    • Routes lack focus and salesmanship
    • Too tall into stems, with modest burst coming out
    • Competitive nature is lacking in many phases
    • Allows coverage to crowd routes and contest catches
    • Needs to become more physical at the top of his route
    • Despite size, gets bullied at the catch point
    • History of drops and poor success rate on contested catches

Edit: highlighted one (emphasis my own) is a death knell for JD picking you imo

Always is. People losing their minds is silly. It is Rounds 2 and 3. Great players are found in all rounds. More picks is good.

Epenesa is a true 4-3 DE though, don’t know if he is the right fit for Jets 3-4. However if he’s there in later rounds it would not be a bad pick, that would be great value.

I saw Edwards beat up some top teams over the years like Georgia in the SEC...Both players can be good
