Wonderlic scores are unbelievably far from the be all end all but man... Jeudy... and Lamb ain't much better! Pittman's stock keeps rising too. He's my round 2 guy at this point if we go OL in round 1.
"Run fast, get open.... & don't bitch when they dont throw your way everytime, but you better catch it when they do"
I disagree, I think complex modern offenses benefit very much from a bright, quick-thinking WR. I was already high on Pittman, now even more so.
Yikes, looking at those scores is a little scary. I think they give you 9 point for spelling your name correctly. If Gase's offense is as complex as I think it might be, then Jeudy or Lamb may have trouble learning it.
I think there's plenty of evidence to show that wonderlic scores don't indicate how a prospect will fare in the NFL.
Van Jefferson probably ends up being a Jet, right? With his dad coaching WRs here it seems quite likely to me
Randy Moss scored a 12. A.J. Green scored a 10. Hell, Ray Lewis scored a 13 and was the quarterback of the Raven's defense for years. Do they understand football? That's what matters.
yeah that’s why I said it doesn’t matter with WR’s. I saw a bunch of talented guys score less than 15...
On one hand I know wonderlic means absolutely nothing. On the other this makes me like Pittman even more than I already did. Whatever happens before, I hope Pittman ends up a Jet on day 2.
Hopefully. I think he’s going to be a good player. Football dna solid route runner. If we come out of this draft with Pittman jr and v Jefferson that’s a nice wide receiver group for Sam to grow with
Dan Marino had a score of 15, maybe that’s why he fell to the 27th pick in the first round. Ryan Fitzpatrick had a score of 48, this disparity says all we need to know about the Wonderlic score. Then again you would have to be a genius to con GMs into thinking you’re a good NFL QB. If I were a GM the last thing I would be looking at is the Wonderlic score. My sleeper receiver is Gandy Golden, guy has been healthy his whole college career, and incredibly productive. I get it, there are big program WRs that always get the attention, I believe they deserve it, but this man has been everything they have been, and catches whatever comes his way.
I've been one of the biggest advocates for not taking a OT at 11 because I want the elite WR to help 14 take the next jump. However, if you told me right now I could get one of the top 4 OTs or trade down for another 3 and get Josh Jones WHILE guaranteeing me 2 of - Claypool, Pittman or Van Jefferson - I am all in on that train! I saw a video of Van Jefferson's route running and his release off the line and I fell in love with him.
