Yeah cuz we should have given him 20 million a year or more. Makes sense.

Honestly, it's probably best we didn't give that contract to Cooper. But Darnold is screwed regardless, and I hope he gets a fair shake at some point, even if that's with another team.

Jerry is locking up these guys as if he's got the core of the NFL's next dynasty in place.

    LOL

Hey he can spend his cash anyway he wants.

I never wanted him. I want to re-sign Robby Anderson and draft either Jeudy or Lamb.

After striking out on O-Line during this shitty FA we've had, I'm dreading the fact that we may become forced to draft the 4th best OT instead of the best WR in either Jeudy/Lamb with superstar potential on the outside as a true #1 WR.

Bringing back Robby Anderson is a must.

Rex is a massive douche. However. I think Rex is correct. Cooper isn't consistent enough to get the contract he got. He's not Julio Jones. You can't strap the entire offense to him.

But I do think the Cowboys had to retain him. Can't have Tavon Austin and Michael Gallup as your 1-2 punch

Dak became 10x the QB because of Cooper. Cooper was also injured part of the year including the Jets game.

Dak's performance from his first two years is pretty similar his last two years. Cooper hasn't affected that all too much.

    First two years: 6,991 yards, 65.2 completion percentage, 45 touchdowns, 17 picks, 7.4 y/a, 11.3 y/c

    Last two years: 8,797 yards, 66.3 completion percentage, 52 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, 7.8 Y/A, 11.8 Y/C

Significantly more yards last year saw a big spike in the yardage production. Don't forget how many games that Dallas trailed in last year though and that he was without Zeke for much of his second year which hurt the offense.

Dak had a better team around him the first two years. Cooper may be a big part of the reason Dak's numbers didn't decline.

There aren't a lot of differences. The biggest difference is Zeke's absence in six games in year 2 which really stalled the entire offense and pushed them down a notch from their 13-3 campaign. In year 3 he lost Travis Frederick, which is obviously a big loss, but he also got a year 2 La'El Collins.

Idunno. The cast of characters didn't change much. Neither did the production. He threw for a lot more yards, but didn't improve completion percentage or touchdown to turnover efficiency. You also have to factor in the first two years being his first two years in the league.

I think Cooper is highly overrated. And even moreso by Jets fans because we haven't seen anything close to him, barring the mirage of 2015 with two end of their ropes receivers, in a long time.
