This is the game I'm most worried about as well. I can see Penny going into his retard shell against that secondary. If we can run the ball, play solid defense, win the turnover battle, and maybe score on special teams we can win it.
We will have a good old fashion Fish Fry for Christmas!!! Anyone who spends this week thinking about ways the Jets can lose, or why they might lose is not a real fan. Period. Why worry? Enjoy the build up to a great rivalry game with something on the line. J E T S JETS JETS JETS!!!
Personally I don't expect Chad to play well next week. However I expect Joey Harrington to be worse. Jets win a narrow victory in Miami.
Chad played well enough to win vs Miami the first time we played them, I see no reason why he cant do it again. Something also not mentioned is that Harrington was BENCHED yesterday vs Buffalo... Will Harrington even start?
Did you even watch the game yesterday? Minny tried to dictate the game. They sent the house at Pennington, blitzing him almost every down. And that's whenn Chad used his dunk passing (that you all criticize him for) to tear them apart. Let Miami blitz. And they will get burned.
Miami win next week 28-6 going away. At least one defensive score/near-score turning the momentum and wrecking Chad's confidence, resulting in minimal offensive output from then on in.
I really think the Dolphin's offense is completely dysfunctional at the moment. I don't expect a big game offensively but I'd be shocked if the Jets give up more than 13 points, and that's going to be a win. 17-13, 14-13, 16-13, that's where I see the final score with Jets on top and the Miami crowd booing lustily as Saban looks for an exit.
It's certainly possible that Pennington could have another one of his bad games but I think the CS is going to look to protect him and keep him from losing the game. I agree that as long as the Jets don't shoot themselves in the foot offensively they should win the next 2 games. Based on some past games in Miami though it might be cheers we're hearing if the Jets pull off a W.
Classic let down game with two games left and playoffs within reach? I don't think so. I said two weeks ago that I was most concerned with Buffalo of the final four games, and that -- unfortunately -- proved true to this point. Jets always play Miami tough, even in losses. Last year they barely lose to Miami in FLA with Brooks at QB, a patchwork O-line and an even more suspect D. I don't think there will be a let down. Won't be easy in Miami. But Miami is also many times a Jets home game with the number of ex-New Yorkers in South Florida. This isn't the Marino Dolphins. It's the Harrington/Lemon Dolphins. That's a big difference.
I agree with you here, but its not going to be an easy win. The dolphins HATE the jets. They want to take our playoff hopes away from us. Well, screw them!!!!
Tell me about it... it makes me sick to read some of this shit. Aren't we supposto root for a win and not predict a loss? Stop over hyping our negatives and look at the good that can come out of this game. What is "great" Miami's record? And what is their record against us the past 4-5 years on top of that?
Other than their front seven blitzing a ton and trying to get turnovers so their shit-filled O can have a short field to work with...the Fins don't have much going for them...I like the idea of the dink and dunk passes working and running between the tackles with Houston and Leon will help. Control the ball and clock and it should be no problem for a Jet win.
Just like I said it .The jets have to create this kind of drama for the end of the season. There is no other scenario that would have come about. This coming game should be the usual, Jets and dolphins neck and neck all game long and then one or the other goes ahead and the other is playing catch up with 2:00 minuets left. Jets win 24-17 All I want for Christmas is a Jets victory.
Dink and Dunk only works against slow defenses besides it frustrates the shit out of me while I'm trying to enjoy my pessimism sandwich. Jason Taylor (even though I hate him) will be all over Chad. He's definitely playing a lot better since the first time we played them. If Brick can't stop him I'll be pounding the egg nog and kicking my dog!!
