The fact that it took six posts before someone cracked on his pornstar cred is embarrassing.

Sorry man, I was commenting on another post that Mike Glennon looks like Napoleon Dynamite and missed my alarm.

Don’t buy in until we see a draft or 2 . None of this matters if he can’t pick a player after the first round

All I’m seeing so far are that players will have opportunities to compete. I do like it I must admit. I honestly can say I don’t know who out of Fant, Lewis, McGovern, Van Roten, Winters, and Edoga will actually start, and at which position. I know as fans it’s fun to take your FA signings and plug them into a roster spot, but I love that none of the contracts are so large that they are some kind of commitment for a player to start or at any particular position. When you add in drafted players, we have no idea what the final starting offensive line will look quite like.

I also feel that Desir, Austin, Maulet, Hairston, and probably a draft pick or two will all compete for starting jobs. Poole will for sure re-take his nickel job.

I like the signing, dont get me wrong. BUT if we dont re-sign Robby and he ends up playing against Desir, expect Robby to have 14 receptions, 336 yards and 5 TDs.

I believe the Colts played primarily a Cover 2.
We ran a lot of that last year, not because Gregg Williams likes cover 2, but because of our limitations at CB required giving them safety help over the top.
Bless Austin also seems to have done well in that coverage scheme.

So are we going to continue the soft Cover 2 in lieu of an aggressive attacking D?
It’s harder to blitz outta that zone, although you can with LBs.

I love Robby Anderson as much as any Jets fan but he's no DeAndre Hopkins. The way DeSir went one on one against Hopkins in man coverage during the playoffs was beautiful to watch.

He really fell off last year. I'm all for giving a guy a chance, but I don't see this solving anything. He's a good depth signing at least. That talent is/was there. Hopefully last year was an aberration and not a sign of things to come.

He played with an injury for most of last year. The year before he was doing it on multiple levels, as opposed to just jumping a route and padding PD or INT numbers. I’m not expecting Revis or anything but he will be a solid starter for us.

    See my post above.
Based on Colts experience he played primarily zone Cover 2. Whether he has the skill set for press I’m not sure.

At this point in free agency, Desir appears to be the best cornerback available. Getting him for less than half the price of these good but not great top free agents makes total sense for where we are roster wise. Regardless, I hope one of our day 2 picks is a corner or perhaps if we can find another Blessuan Austin in the late rounds, all the better. We simply have too many holes to deal with long term solutions for every spot right now. As long as Douglas drafts well then we will continue to need our list of needs shrink.

The Colts have hit on some of their CB picks (and oddly enough, we have two former Colts on the roster at CB now in Hairston who actually won a starting gig in 2017 and Desir).

Kenny Moore was a UDFA from the Pats but the Colts claimed him and he's been improving ever since and is now one of their better cover corners.

they also drafted well in Quincy Wilson and Rock-Ya Sin who project as their other starters in the secondary. All 3 are 24 or 23 years old so they have some good youth and depth in their secondary. As they continue to develop, carrying someone with a high salary mark like Desir (who was a starter) just didn't make sense, especially since he was hurt and the Colts were satisfied with their young corners.

Desir likes to get up in WR's faces, pretty physical corner who plays solid in man and can play well in a cover 2. He's not super fast but he has good technique. I definitely like him for Gregg's scheme.
