The only Ghostbuster is Sam. Highly doubt you want to name your O-Line after a terrible moment for your young QB. That is already in the rear view mirror. My thoughts on the O-Line: Just be quiet and protect your franchise!
There have been plenty of great NFL offensive lines within NFL history. How many of these O-Line(s) have ever had nicknames? Not many.
The Great Wall of Dallas The Hoggs The Electric Company Those are the only ones I can think of. I can think of other lines that were as good or better than those, but didn't get a nickname (at least not a nickname I ever heard): 90's Broncos '65--75-ish Raiders '75-'85-ish Rams '70's Cardinals '85-'93-ish Oilers
I get the excitement over possibly having an improved OL, but let's pump the brakes a bit and wait and see if they're actually worth a nickname besides "Worst".
that was funny!! i tried to inject some levity into the board discussion and you beat that 10 times over. well played
That was the name of our DL back in the '80s with Joe Klecko, Mark Gastineau, Marty Lyons and Abdul Salaam.
I know, I caught the latter stages of it, from 1983 onwards. I just remembered the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football had a nickname for their offensive line, back in 1990. They called themselves 'The Nasty Boys' and it stuck. Doug Marrone was the center and I interviewed him, Steve Gabbard, Paul Berardelli. Good times.
Understood, I just thought the idea of someone assuming you just came up with the 'the sack exchange' idea and feeling compelled to "school you on it" was pretty funny. . .
Actually a strong OL will prevent his ever seeing them again. It's also healthy to be able to laugh at ourselves. That said, I was only joking before. Giving themselves a name like that would only serve to make opposing pass rushers more determined to embarrass them and sack Sam.
Haha, I know everyone is joking! Just a fun thread. I definitely put that game and moment behind me though and don't want to be reminded about it. I know Sam could care less, which is the right attitude to have. Also, if you can reverse a negative situation and make it positive, that is fine by me. I just want Sam to be protected by solid offensive line, as every other Jets fan does.
Quit trying to start trouble!!!! Keep you opinions to yourself regarding me!!! I realize that you have reading comprehension issues, and are severely lacking in intelligence and civility, but I had mentioned "The Sack Exchange" first, so I knew that he didn't just come up with the name. There are a lot of younger posters on here who don't know about Jets' history. I didn't realize he was making a joke, trying to be funny. I thought maybe he didn't know about the sack exchange and was trying to be helpful. I wasn't trying to "school" anyone. Someone sure needs to school you in civility, however. You are the saddest, most wretched excuse for a human being that I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
