Assuming we continue to build a line that Sam feels comfortable behind, i suggest we create a new name for them

Let's hope they're not just called "busts" when it's all said and done.

Would love it! The stadium PA system could play "Ghostbusters" the first time the offense took the field each game (any more than that and it would get old in a hurry). Sam could mime singing, "I ain't afraid of no ghost!" LOL

That'll mean Sam is seeing ghosts behind busts. No thnx on the nickname. The Fab-5 has already been used before but that'll be more fitting.

You don't want an offensive line with a name. You don't want an offensive line that has an image, a gimmick. Those kind of things tend to want to get PAID way more than they're worth. You want a quiet, efficient offensive line that outperforms their salaries

This reminds me so much of a training camp story I heard years ago. It was an interview with a Jets player, I can't remember who, and he was all 'Oh, we're going to be so good on D this year, the linebackers are the FBI and the defensive backs are the Bomb Squad and we're going to be so great and it's amazing how quickly were coming together as a defense... blah blah blah'.

Then the season started and the nickname we all settled on was 'The Scrubs'.

I think this is probably true to some extent, but fans and the media love nicknames. I think its sort of inevitable. If the players on that unit perform at a high level, then they deserve to get paid. If they don't, then they're not likely to get a nickname or it won't last. Who doesn't like "The Sack Exchange"? Those players deserved to get paid. They were great individually and collectively. They fed off of and helped each other. Nicknames help marketing, and they help make the game a little more fun and interesting.

There have been other great nicknames like "The Purple People Eaters," "The Killer B's," "The Steel Curtain," "The Doomsday Defense," and others.

Do you dislike "The Sack Exchange?" Would you do away with that nickname? Why should the DL be able to have a nickname, but not the OL?
